when you are just cruising as you mention it, you dont need to shift....DSG does it for you!

Yea i hate when im turning, and my hands are just out of reach of the paddles, this is a great idea, i have aluminum paddles, but they are short
Thats what the slap shift is for on the shift knob.
Ok, I just bought 2 sets from different seller one Black set and one Silver 13.80 ea. Figured $28 total so inexpensive not much to loose if there's a fitment issue.
These are made from aluminum (I'm guessing) and will absorb heat/cold I'm going to apply Grip Tape for Guns GT-5000, you can find it on amazon. This tape is remarkable it sticks and lasts, I have it on a titanium knife handle and it hasn't peeled in the slightest with a lot of in & out of my pocket use. It's very thin and will only enhance these paddle shifters, won't be so cold to the touch and have a nice tactile feel. It's kind of a rubber pebble finish feel but not sticky at all and will work great in this application...just cut to shape and apply and enjoy.
I was concerned about temps too, but you don’t hold them long enough to matter. Also Usually fire off shifts from the top cut out area the surface contact on skin is so minimal you don’t feel the temp. I like these paddles a lot.

Thanks for making this video! Is the shifting experience more satisfying from a feel and sound perspective when compared to the OEM shifters? Do they sound metallic like some higher end cars with their stock paddles do?
Much more satisfying, and the metal feel is very nice. I also like the cut outs I usually use them from the lower edge cut. Feels great.

Left one clicks but not with the same sound.

You need to adjust the pin. Don't push it in all the way

No I don’t expect it would, the parts are quite different on MK8. You’ll have to find ones for your style.

@@barbersoto6729 My mistake! My ex has a 2017 1.8 tsi automatic with no paddles. Figured it was only the gti's and r's. I am in Canada though. In the US there are a few models that offer it.
@@craigfutter9132 I’m from Denmark maybe that’s why, I can’t tell if there is a difference but I got some issues with mine getting to install a paddle extension because there is no split under the paddles😅

Not this exact part, you’d have to google search for accord paddle shifter extensions and see if they are any good.

I hate how the leather gets shiny after awhile, I've got a suede wrap on mine to prevent it from getting shiny.
Use a damp magic eraser and it comes up like a new wheel. Hated the gloss leather and was told about this hack. Amazing.

No I didn’t think that was needed to show. They are nice, it’s easier to shift using paddles while your hands are low or high on the wheel while driving

Hard to justify paying $200+ for the brandname!
I mean, it's not only the brand name. The Chinese company blaitently stole the entire design from the original maker, but the research & development of this paddle is not worth a $200 mark-up. I know. I am only a 3D design/modeling hobbyist and I could come up with the same thing in a day, easily.
@@eNons3nse Not worth it at all. If you watch "HumbleMechanics" install and review video, he compares the 225$ version to the 25$ ones. the 225$ ones had a wiggle to them after install. Whereas the cheaper ones had a next to perfect fit. I personally would be pissed after paying 225$ for poorly researched an developed garbage. But I totally understand your point that people need to consider the work that gets put into it.
