"Silence haters"? Really? He has been unprofessional time and time again. Late for training. Out partying after losing 3-0 to City. Two days on a bender before a game in Belfast. He has been underperforming ALL season, and lately he can't even be bothered to run around when he lose the ball.

06/07 we played 442, Ronaldo, Scholes, Carrick, Giggs, Rooney, Saha as the front 6 - Giggs hadn’t dropped into centre mid yet and Ronaldo always started on the right

Great video guys, would you consider doing a past video on Eric Cantona. On how he played his free role position. He was everywhere and everything would go through him. People need teaching on how good he was, he is very underrated these days, what a player.
Would be an interesting watch if they could compare his free role to Bruno’s play style as well.
I’m sure i remember we went back to 4-4-2 after ronaldo/tevez left. We played 2 out of roony, berba, welbeck, Hernandez. But he went 4-3-3 for difficult away games.
We played 4-4-2 loads of times when Ronaldo and Tevez were here. Not in big UCL games but in the league we did it all the time. Howson/Jay are wrong.
We had Nani/Ronaldo/Tevez/Rooney starting games together. It's obviously a 4-4-2. Nani certainly wasn't playing in central midfield.

Fergie actually did switch back to 442 briefly but still went to 433. This was not in the last couple of years he was at the club either it was way before then

Im the guy that was disagreeing with steve on the 442 thing. The point i was arguing about was that he claimed we never played in a 442 since 2005. I disagree. We did play in a 442 since then. I dont doubt we play 433 at times in big away games and in the champions league. We did play 442 especially at home in the league. It was a flexible 442 with rooney dropping deep and sometimes wingers coming inside.
Pretty sure there's a post match interview with Fergie in the early 2000's where he said he has never played 4-4-2 and started giving examples with Cantona/Yorke/Sheringham being given as examples of playing off the striker.
@danirigo6224 I've not seen that. There usually was a more mobile player who dropped deeper but to suggest we didn't play in a 442 or anything close to it, which would be a 4411 if you want to get technical, since 2005 is wrong.

The problem with Rashford is his decision making. He's not a natural baller i.e. he doesn't seem to really get the dynamics of team play. He needs absolutely everything going his way to do his thing, and when it isn't, which is most of the time, he's a liability.

I would love us to play 442 or a 4222 formation, especially if we had Greenwood and Rashford as our 2 strikers upfront. Both are super fast, tricky and good goal scorers / finishers. They can also both play centrally and peel off wide with ease.
Maybe we can bring it back into style. My first early memories of english teams was always teams playing 442, with the european / teams on the continent, especially the great german teams often playing 3 at the back, usually in a 352 formation.
