You don’t have to remove the back portion of the seat and you do need to clean the sensors in both sides of the tank to get this fix to work properly. The driver’s side is much easier than the passenger side.
You have to clean both sensors, the passengers side also has a gauge sensor. I cleaned both and the readings were normal. Hopefully this helps because this is a common issue for the G's
Check the sending unit with an ohmmeter making sure it's working before putting it back. Might need more than just Q-tips, try it with rubbing compound. Need clean mating surfaces between the wiper and track - it's a potentiometer, look it up. I would have removed the back seat as well if I didn't know, better than dropping the tank from under which I needed to do. BTW taking out that pump unit is like delivering a baby, or was it just me?

I wouldn’t mess with any fuel additives. They are mostly a load of BS and sometimes can mess up your injectors and cause more problems not to mention making the check engine light come on. As long as your using premium fuel with every fill up you should be good to go. This engine will last you forever as long as you treat her right. I’m rocking 230k miles on mine and she still runs like a champ! Hope this helps.
when you reattach the cover after cleaning the teeth on the variable resistor (arm rubs on these teeth to read from empty to full) be careful not to trap the arm so it is stuck or bent and binding in the gas tank or you knocked the float off because you really wanted to go have a beer instead of missing with your car and got pissed off because your girl left with that other dude (possible to get stuck high or low which could throw an error code) and can no longer move up and down with the tank level....someone below has a fault that shows always empty/full and the arm could be stuck or one of the wires on the teeth could have fallen off.....the teeth get covered with lacquer (like nail polish) and become intermittent....more likely dirty teeth than a bad pump

Monty LANE just means ur fuel gauge isn’t working. Maybe u changed to the fuel pump too soon. First U clean both sides like in the video, if doesn’t work, then check to see the wiring harness to the fuel pump is all connected and nothing is wrong, then if still doesn’t work, then you replace fuel pump, at this point since you know the pumps I new, u should check the wiring or fuel tank

vElite Rim automatic is the way to go now. Did no one give you the update jk. 6 speed all day everyday! I don’t know why you would be “racing” this car with an automatic tranny unless you bought it for a stupid dumb price and planed on doing a 6 speed conversion but to be honest that isn’t worth the trouble when you can just find a 6 speed on the cheap since most people can’t drive stick you can talk the price down super low because the seller will have a tough time getting rid of a car that that most don’t know how to drive. That’s what I did to get my 6 speed G and it worked like a charm 😀
I did this method like 4 months ago. After doing it, my gauge was reading bad. Turned out, it wasn’t my fuel pump. I sent out my cluster and got the fuel gauge fixed. The resistor gets bad overtime
KingAndrew5000 yeah the cluster that’s on the dash. There’s like 3 resistors that gets blown out. Maybe depending on where you live, type in “instrument cluster repair” and you might find that are local. I had a few around my area but I sent it out to someone who was able to do it for me quicker.

The blue o-rings usually retain their shape. The black ones expand and are difficult to get back in the groove it is supposed to sit in. You can place it in one side and use a small flathead screwdriver to push it inward while putting pressure on the white plastic cover until you get the metal retaining ring back on.

RIP I loved that engine great sounding car I had Invidia Gemini exhaust. You should wear your seat belt especially since you do street racing.

All you had to do is lift the seat from 2 clips an ur done . No need to remove the top. It only takes 3 minutes.

Why take a chance, 12V in the tank driving the pump. Sparks and gas don't play nice.
