- More progress at the crawlspace. Got the first tier cut to grade on the crawlspace and started on the second one. Also cut out the driveway and got some of the clay placed and rolled in there. Trying to use the different materials on different parts of the property. Thanks for watching! #EliteEarthworks #Takeuchi #crawlspace

That's a HUGE footprint! You took it into high gear here and it's really taking shape. Thanks, as always, for letting us be part of your day.
Yes it is it’s a massive house. Thank you! Appreciate you guys watching
That’s a lot of different elevations for a house. In my area everything is slab foundations. That’s an art to me watching you cut the different elevations and making them tie in. Great job Brandon. Thanks for the letting us watch the progress.
A lot of people build slab houses but all these great big houses seem to do crawlspaces or basements. You have to take your time and make sure you are cutting the right areas out lol! Thanks again for watching
Man those folks have there own gravel pit and don't even know it.
Yeah they do 🤣
You removed a lot of dirt on this project,I was not expecting to have to remove that much dirt, but again.that is a big floor plan your working on great video.keep doing your thing 😎😎😎👍👍👍
Yeah it’s a ton of material. Appreciate you watching

Like to see that house when it is finished, nice work.
Thank you! It’s going to be a big one.
Looking good 👍🏻🇺🇲
Thank you!
Nice job!!
Thank you!
@@eliteearthworksllc You are very welcome!
Great job 👍🏻
Thank you!
@@eliteearthworksllc no problem 😌
Casually strolls in late …… 😎🇺🇸
🤣🤣
Y'all must have had some rain in the recent past. It didn't seem terribly dusty in the video. We haven't had a measurable amount in 3 or 4 weeks. The ground here is as hard as an anvil.
The music was cool in the first time lapse, sounded sorta like Breaking Benjamin.
We got an inch of rain yesterday morning and that is the first significant rain in several weeks. We went from all that rain to bone dry and 95 been a little rough. I thought it sounded like breaking Benjamin too 😁
I see you are whipping it into shape. That material you're digging looks a lot like what Mike at Dirt Perfect calls chert. They use it for road base material which I have seen it used for before. I think there are several gravel/clay mixes people call chert which they all use as road base material. What do you call that material? If it's valuable you are sitting on a fortune of it. Keep up the good work and I'm glad that vacation didn't ruin you when you got back for the next week or two.
That’s pretty much what it is. Most people call it rocky clay here some call it chert. It does make a good base definitely won’t settle. Thanks again for watching
LOL...not being disrespectful but I would have built that house on a crawlspace and never cut one cuyd of dirt out. I would have cut the footings to the frost line/stable soil, laid concrete block wall for foundation and put the wood on it. The floor elevation would have been about 16" above the "to be built finish grade" at the front of the house and saved a lot of money. But like the old saying goes, "different strokes for different folks" and it made your bank account much healthier. 😏
The work you did looks very nice! Thanks for the video.
I think he knows more than you😠
@@Dirt_mountain-earthworks…I’m sure he does. Money was obviously not a factor. If the customer wants to spend it, do the work and everyone is happy.
I totally understand that! I agree with you they could have saved thousands of dollars by doing it that way. I even asked them about that but they insisted on tiering it and cutting it all out. They were worried about crawlspace area. But like you said much more money for me so I’ll take it 😁
Arkansas mean ms no disrespect I know him and have talked to him on the phone several times. He’s probably forgotten more than I’ll ever know in this industry. His comment was more towards the builder and homeowner and not at me. This property really didn’t have to be dug out like this but they insisted so that’s what I did
@@eliteearthworksllc 👍got sorry i misunderstood
That’s some rocky dirt or maybe best called dirty rocks because it appears there’s more rocks than dirt🤔😆
There is definitely more rocks than dirt 🤣
Looking good!
I know that cost is always a factor, but do you know why most of the jobs that you have had are either for a slab or a crawlspace rather than a full basement? Is it the rocky soil? I would venture to guess that it is fairly rare here in KC not to put in a full basement.
Thank you! Most of it is customer preference. These people didn’t want a basement. It’s not them trying to save money they just don’t feel they need it. Which to me and everyone else it’s a no brainer to go with a basement and have more storage space but I think some people just don’t ever think they will need it.
