- This is part 3 of 7 on the 2005 Ford Excursion 6.0 powerstroke diesel rebuild. In this video I install the new powerstoke products Oringed cylinder heads, gaskets, studs, lifters, pushrods, hpop, injectors, injector nipple cups, front and rear main seals, front and rear engine covers, low pressure oil pump, exhaust manifolds, and flex plate. Stay tuned for part 4 where I will be showing how to reinstall the engine. I will provide links below to some of the parts and tools used in this video. Since this is another long video I will also have the timecodes listed below to help navigate through the video.

Love your work keep it up forever 🔥🔥🔥🔥❤️
These were very informative. They are on a “Diesel Tech Ron” level. Good job sir.
Wow! Thank you I really appreciate that. I don’t think anyone will ever replace diesel tech Ron he is a true legend for the 6.0 community and is greatly missed.
@@BLUECOLLARGARAGE you made this seem a lot less intimidating.
@@BLUECOLLARGARAGE so no thread lockers needed for assembly?
The FJB on the heads 😂❤
Man you do such a great job. I wish you would take on a 6.4 build. Your editing and explanation is superior to the rest.
Thank you, that might be something I’ll tackle in the future if I can find one cheap enough.
Awesome videos! Cool to see how it’s done.
I just bought a used F250 with a 6.0 and the underside is an oily mess.
Really cool to see how well you take care of yours and how clean it is .
Keep up the good work .
Okay, to begin with, let me thank you very much for putting this video together. The amount of patience it must have taken to move the camera around and get every shot of every bolt perfectly is astounding. Virtually no interpretations with kids and dogs around, no radio, no friends bullshitting in the background... my hat is off to you, for sure.
So my question is, if your IPR sensor is good, wouldn't it be a good idea to do your initial break in with the old IPR sensor, and then swap it out for the new one with your first oil change? That way any loose gasket material, all that thick assembly lube, or any little bullshit that might have gotten in when you were putting the whole thing together might get caught in that screen just to get removed fairly quickly when the new one is installed.
Anyway... great video series. Thanks again.
Great set of timely videos - Going through this with you in real time. Pulled engine for headgaskets.
Thanks part 4 should be out soon been busy with my other full time job and trying to get through the holidays it probably won’t be out till after the first of the year because I’ve just hadn’t had the time to edit it.
Great series. Love how in depth. Nothing like this on the web
Great video dude! I appreciate the work you put into this.
Thanks for all the videos you make, they're very helpful! While im not in need of a rebuild yet, its great to watch and gain as much knowledge as possible!
Thank you for the video
Thanks for showing your oops. Those are some of the mistakes I would have made too good catch.
Thanks for the video! I run Rotella T6 in mine for the same reasons as well. When you said there are better oils are out there, which ones did you have in mind? I’ve run Schaffer’s and it made my injector stiction go away but it’s pricey lol.
Thanks yeah I was referring to Schaffers as well or amsoil but like you said they are to pricey. Rotella t6 is cheap enough to change every 3-5k miles that’s what I’ve done since I have owned this excursion and as you saw my engine was still clean inside after 220k.
Great video series! Did I miss the oring on that hpop two bolt flange? I saw you add some oil but didnt see an oring?
Yeah it was on there.
At 1:29:23
You put locktite on the crank ?
6.0 on are crazy designs
That lifter tray bolt cost me an entire engine after if backed out and let all 4 lifters spin in the bore
Im about to do this job, would you be willing to sell the set of seal installers you bought if you don’t plan using them again? Figured ild ask before buying new
No sorry I plan on doing some more 6.0’s in the future but thanks.
Why you didn't up-grade that high pressure oil pump 2005 🤔💬
Was the exhaust gasket on right? @2:22:00
quick question what was the total cost of the rebuild? And thanks for the detailed video step by step it makes a huge difference.
I did a ton of upgrades that didn’t have to be done but I’d say I’m around 12k or so. If I would have done just all stock and reused the injectors and turbo I’d be at about 5k or so.
@@BLUECOLLARGARAGE oh wow not bad for upgrades. If I’m mistaken please correct me but you didn’t change the pistons or rings correct? Becuase I’m thinking of doing a rebuild on mine this is what’s been done since I’ve owned it

@@scottcurtis2220 that’s quite a bit done already and yes I did not do pistons or rings or cam and crank bearings because they were still in awesome shape and I had zero blow by truck still ran great with no issues besides the coolant pressure before the rebuild.
What torque wrenches do you use?
I have a 1/2” SK brand and just a cheaper 3/8” husky from Home Depot.
You you still missed them the 🔩 bolts
Thanks for admitting boo boos,
Why are you whispering? This old man can't hear you.
