For me, It always was CZcams. Comparing the expierience of a viewer in CZcams and Twitch, the only thing I saw was better on Twitch was the interactivity. (Hype trains, Bits instead of Dollars, Euro etc.) But for me it wasn't really enough to actually enjoy Twitch, I use CZcams way more often and the Twitch UI was just not as easy to use and accessible as CZcams's and after some streams I just stopped watching Twitch streamers and only watched YT videos and livestreams on CZcams of content creators that I like. That's the viewer perspective only tho, as I am not a streamer, however if I was a streamer I would probably stream on both, but encourage my Twitch viewers to switch to my CZcams content. In short, I just never liked Twitch to begin with and now it's just more reasons to dislike it than ever. I would love to see CZcams add all that awesome interactivity Twitch has and maybe even surpass Twitch's viewer/stream count. (Which is probably very unlikely but miracles sometimes happen, don't they?) Also I just wanna say, thank you Aaron for providing all of us with awesome hours of content, you're one of the CZcamsrs/Streamers that got me into DBD. CZcams. I switched 6 months ago and have no regrets. My community came with me and they already have youtube so they don't have to sign up for any new services.
CZcams is the only viable alternative, and even then they have the exact same rule for burn in ads that Twitch is trying to implement, which is why people read the ads in their videos themselves as opposed to the sponsor doing it. Kick will never be a viable alternative when it's backed by gambling and is knee deep in controversy on a regular basis from the creators on it (Twitch already built its brand by the time it had a problem with some of the creators on its platform, and it still seems, despite them playing favorites, that they will ban more problem people than Kick will). Me, I might try streaming to CZcams, but not due to this, I was already planning on it just to build more of an audience. I already upload my vods here. Unless Twitch does something to where they physically can't function as a platform they'll never not be the best for streaming. CZcams discoverability for streaming is still tough unless you already have an audience.
For now, I'm sticking with Twitch. I'm a small CC (208 followers) so the effect on me doesn't feel as stark as I imagine it does for bigger CCs. That said, I'm keeping my ear to the ground on the subject, and if I were to move, it'd prolly be here.
I really hope Twitch realize their mistake, or reword it so it seems less hostile as they claim it was meant to be. I really don't like any other streaming platform as a viewer. CZcams can be ok but the layout for streams as well as available viewer interactions just suck. I guess we'll see what happens.
I've kind of done the viewer equivalent of what you said you'd be doing; I went from watching only on Twitch to finding a small number of creators on youtube. Nowadays I don't watch too many streams, but those I do are all youtube because I'm generally here watching videos anyhow XD
Yeah I’ve found that a lot of people prefer to have everything in one place tbf, so if you naturally gravitate towards CZcams for your video content anyways then you’re more likely to watch streams there :)

I've seen a number of (recent) ex-staff and ambassadors go into some detail regarding this as it's been in the works for a while and how this has, for the most part, been a massive miscommunication on Twitch's part as to who these branded guidelines were intended to affect. Much like last year when they announced the change to the 70/30 split which affected like >0.1% of streamers, the way it was communicated was like it affected everyone, which it didn't and from what I saw yesterday neither does this. I guess only time will tell if this is the case or Twitch doing a U-turn. The $25 fee is also a maximum amount payable when terminating the agreement. If you have a balance of eg $6 then that $6 would be taken from your balance and that would be that, if you had a balance of $36 then $25 would be taken from the balance and the remaining $11 would be paid out to you - This was already in the Affiliate/Partner agreement from previous years and isn't anything new. I do agree on everything else though but I'd also say that another benefit Twitch has over other platforms is, hands down, the best moderator tools available.
I do find it hard to catch most livestreams because of my work schedule so I tend to catch a lot of VODs uploaded to CZcams anyways. I like CZcams more as a platform, but they do need a bit more work to be the streamer site we would want it to be.
I started doing it seriously about a month and a half ago, it's growing fast and is super awesome to watch grow, but I might consider doing a 50/50 split between Twitch and CZcams.

How can they legally change the contract for cancellation without having the creators sign an amendment? Even an online signature to a contract counts and, from what I understand, changes to a written contract need to be signed by both parties. What is going on???
Oh lord I dont stream on twitch and I hardly watch it, I infact use yt live to watch live streams if I ever do. This just seems trashy practice honestly. I feel so bad for everyone honestly
So I am sticking with Twitch since I have been burned in the past with going to Mixer. I streamed there quite a bit only for it to shut down a few months later. Plus it is like you mentioned, Aaron, with the channel points and the interactivity you have with your audience definitely makes streams more fun and connecting with your viewers more. I already struggle as a small streamer and I can't see myself starting fresh on a new platform after working so hard for three years. So unless Twitch really screws up, I will be staying there.
It’s a tough one man, for smaller people it may be better to stay on twitch until the ship starts sinking and viewers hop on the life rafts elsewhere. For someone like yourself who is already established, has contacts in your community, and has an active viewer base, youtube is your best bet. You’ll tend to find that the algorithm is more favourible to people who stream and make videos. If I found you through youtube, then it would stand to reason your youtube would only get bigger if your sole focus was here.
I'm a streamer but not an affiliate or partner, and I've seen the agreements. Why would they change it to the 70/30 agreement, while yes was favoring creators was more fair to everyone than a 50/50.
I wouldn't even consider kik since I found out adin Ross went there. Honestly any service will get greedy at some point. I think good content creators will have their viewers follow them wherever they go. Glad you talked about this. I had no idea what was going on.
I would say that I am upset about these changes, which I am, but they don't affect me that much. I made the requirements to be an Affiliate on Twitch, but I can't accept it right now. So for me I'm not too worried about it. I mainly stream on Twitch to build a community to hangout with and play video games with and to make new friends. Streaming on Twitch for me is a hobby.
This is completely understandable, but as it stands, although you’re only looking for community, you can do that anywhere, and you may as well be doing it in the place where you can make some extra money alongside it. Youre making the content, so you should have more control over the way you can make money with it. Thats my take at least.
I’m likely gonna keep streaming on Twitch (even if I’m just a tiny streamer with 35 followers), since it’s just the easiest one to stream on. My YT channel’s content is too different from my Twitch content, and I was planning on making another YT channel for stream highlights, anyways. Best of both worlds, imo.

I don't understand how Twitch has continued to make these stupid decisions. People have been screaming for so long, that they need more help, more tools, a better algorythm and most importantly, more money/ less restrictions. What do we get? "yo you are only allowed to make this and that much money" I don't know what's going on in the heads of the people making those decisions but I hope somebody stops them. It's honestly getting tiring having to worry about all the stuff they are messing up every single month at this point
If the creators I watch move to CZcams I will happily move over but I dont think if they were to move to kick, rumble or somewhere unfamiliar I would follow. I cant really explain why but twitch and youtube will be the only platforms I would watch a livestream on.
Hey Aaron , thank you for bringing this to my attention , because in the future I was planning to become a streamer myself, mostly playing video games that I like which are single player, retro type and point and click hidden object games. Now witg these new changes about to arrive soon, I'll definitely follow my favourite creators and streamers where ever they go, I have friends who stream on Twitch and I believe one has has made the decision on to moving to CZcams, I hope that the others will follow or do what you say that you're going to do and that's spend one week on Twitch and the other on CZcams. Streamed on twitch for 4 years. Avoided the affiliate program when that came out. Knew that was a scam the day it was announced. The writings been on the wall for 2-3 years now. Twitch is hemorrhaging money and are desperately trying any way they can to keep the money in house.
I’m honestly waiting for the day that they announce the end of Prime subs! I feel like that loses them wayyy too much money and it’s just a matter of time
I hope everyone is aware that behaviour has added the maps flag, i just played against an oni and he had that flag so i had to dc, i am not playing against or with people that are attracted to children, look into it.
This has a larger impact on smaller content creators. It's a smart move for Twitch. Streamers with low-quality content FAR outweighs that of larger, production quality streams. That's a LOT of bandwidth. They're looking for Quality over quantity. Smart move. Go to other platforms if you're looking for low production streams. Feed into the cloud 9 dreams they're trying to sell. At least Twitch has a backbone for moderation compared to the others.
as a small non affiliate streamer on twitch i don't think the new policy's apply to me but i understand the frustration as taking away peoples income isn't right i hope this gets changes for the health of the platform, but if not i feel like CZcams will become the new twitch with a few upgrades of course
if i switch platforms ill just go to youtube which was what i was gonna do originally until a friend of mine showed me twitch and i started with that. granted if i do make the switch it will be an entirely fresh start again which im not overly fond of.
I’d definitely say do it gradually then :) get your current audience used to you streaming over on CZcams by doing 1 or 2 a week and promoing the shit out of it on your Twitch :)
@@AaronDukeYT thanks for the feedback, i plan on doing just that actually because i already have to redo my streamlabs and everything and atm i just do not have the energy to manually make all my scenes right now. not only that i have to figure out the tipping thing for paypal since i dont want to make my account a business account but i also do not want to go through the hassle of paypals onboarding a second time lol i had massive issues with my id not getting accepted due to the glint in the plastic when i take a photo of it.
I have noticed that a lot of former twitch streamers are shining light on some of these new guidelines that they are 'enforcing', and a few even left for other streaming platforms and i don't blame them at all, maybe it is time for a change.
Well my thoughts are that I have been streaming on Twitch for 9yrs and I have noticed the huge impact on all of the wrong turns they have taken over the years, I think this is another wrong turn for them as they are just making it harder and harder for content creators to actually make it a full time endevour its just going to make it worse for small streamers and those who are at the top 1% wont have much of an issue with the changes just those who are under 10k followers.
I'm still very small so I'm not really sure what all this means. I have trouble keeping up with TOS and all that. It's a disaster though. I really don't want Twitch to go under but That might be the case. I guess CZcams might be the best option if it comes down to it. I'll stick with Twitch for now and if It all goes down hill I'll start slowly shifting to CZcams. I'll be sure to do some research.
Over the past couple of years i've went from mixer, to twitch, to trovo, to youtube, back to twitch and i'll say that Trovo has the most "fun" experience for viewers BUT it's a heavily mobile gaming streaming site which makes it hard to grow as a content creator outside of that space. CZcams has it's benefits but as you stated, the "fun" isn't there for viewers and me personally as a viewer it's rough to watch at least on PC because if you do theatre mode then chat is under the stream and if you don't then you're looking at a lot of negative space around the actual content but...the chat is on the right side which is just overall a better looking and feeling position to both chat and watch streams.....Shareplay is another new up an coming streaming site as well that is in it's early stages and from my understanding, ran by ex mixer partners and mixer streamers so it has some of the fun things mixer had but it's still in alpha testing so there's not a lot of streams to watch and you can't really see if vods get saved or how clips will work etc but something to keep an eye out for. This is all just my personal experience over the last 4 years casually streaming.
I'll still side stream on twitch, but mostly going to move to video creation, as my community does tell me the videos and vods are more enjoyable anyway.
All streaming platforms are the same. facebook green facebook (cant remember name) And now twitch. Sooner or later.. all of them will do the same They dont care about content creators.
Hello, Aaron, these are good points. I wanted to share a thought that may be good for the DBD community. Sadly Puppers has recently crossed and he was all about kindness and positivity. The DBD community has been plagued with toxicity. I thought it might be a wonderful way to honor his memory by starting a "Positivity for Puppers" movement that would promote positive interactions between gamers and positive , active support of content creators?
@Aaron Duke Game , exactly. He was so loved and respected. With so much toxicity in the DBD community I was thinking of either: 1) A charity event or marathon of some sort to help pay for his outstanding bills and funeral costs 2) It could be a charity event or marathon for ALS research 3) A movement to honor his memory like setting a day of kindness to each other while playing DBD while encouraging kindness everyday I thought if celebrities like you and your compatriots would be willing to collaborate, it could draw a large number of followers to help make this a reality. It just feels odd not to honor him somehow in a way that was big as his heart. Thank you for listening and stay comfy. 🙏💖🕊
If I was about to start streaming I would do it on CZcams, Twitch is not a safe place to start a career. CZcams will always be around, and it has more people. No one should be ok with a 50/50.
I think for me I’ve always wanted to have myself in multiple places so that if one does ever fall I have a back up, basically not putting all my eggs into one basket. The idea of only being in one place terrifies me 😂
I'm pretty sure Purplecliffe (pokemon content creator) had a very horrid experience being a Twitch partner over a year ago and has made the switch to CZcams streaming since then. He regularly talks about how much better streaming feels to him right now. Twitch didnt take it well and actually dragged on erasing the channel for months and tried to trick him into keeping it up, just to be sure to keep charging those subscribers who forgot to cancel their subscriptions. Overall very greedy. Not to touch on how they handled the TwitchCon tragedy last year with that streamer who literally broke her back because of their negligence.
Twitch from what I’ve seen is money hungry and is definitely getting hard for people who stream on it to make revenue but personally I’m not streaming because I want money it’s the biggest steaming platform so I do it to hopefully entertain people so for me I’ll be staying until it is hit the bottom of the barrel

Should any streamers i follow on twitch decide to move to a different platform, then i would just follow them. I absolutely HATE CZcams's streaming....it's just so lackluster with minimal options for interaction and emotes. A streamer on Twitch I follow is moving over to Kick, and I checked that out, and it's setup is almost identical to Twitch, so at least the transition won't be so jarring, but it remains to be seen if it's reputation is warranted. Overall, I think it would be better for everyone involved for Twitch to just get their heads out of their asses! lol
CZcams -> All my videos are archive there. I rarely stream on it just cause the lack of stuff that Twitch has for channel points, animated emotes, and etc. Twitch -> I'll be streaming there once a week just cause their immature changes of getting more Ls than CZcams's Ws... Ofc they want $25 while I'll give them my middle finger for their gratitude. Kick -> I'll be streaming there several times a week to see it for myself in a better comfort zone. Rumble -> I'll be uploading RPG Maker game and my project game videos over there since I can't livestream with 5 subs needed... (~_~) Amazon Twitch at this point needs to consume lots and lots of Bud Light to go full woke mode... >_>
Kick might be an unsafe cesspool, but so is twitch. There is still horrible political biases and several of their "safety team" used their positions to silence people they didnt like. So imo, 95 percent income is not something to ignore because "internet people mean"
Don't forget Twitch being incredibly biased and sexist in favor of women. If I were to slip and get mad and drop the hard R word, I could lose my whole channel but a woman can legit have full blown sex while live and only get a 7 day ban then come back as if nothing happened

I think the thing about these changes is that the remove the ability to make money WITHOUT having to ask audiences for contributions. It moves Twitch to a place of having the best chance of an income coming from your viewers, which isn’t good at all!

I don't understand how Twitch has continued to make these stupid decisions. People have been screaming for so long, that they need more help, more tools, a better algorythm and most importantly, more money/ less restrictions. What do we get? "yo you are only allowed to make this and that much money"
I don't know what's going on in the heads of the people making those decisions but I hope somebody stops them.
It's honestly getting tiring having to worry about all the stuff they are messing up every single month at this point
I’m not even a Twitch Affiliate yet, so I’ll probably stay for now, but I do hope this gets sorted out.
If you’re not affiliate yet, I’d say to really think about taking it when you get there
If the creators I watch move to CZcams I will happily move over but I dont think if they were to move to kick, rumble or somewhere unfamiliar I would follow. I cant really explain why but twitch and youtube will be the only platforms I would watch a livestream on.

Hey Aaron , thank you for bringing this to my attention , because in the future I was planning to become a streamer myself, mostly playing video games that I like which are single player, retro type and point and click hidden object games. Now witg these new changes about to arrive soon, I'll definitely follow my favourite creators and streamers where ever they go, I have friends who stream on Twitch and I believe one has has made the decision on to moving to CZcams, I hope that the others will follow or do what you say that you're going to do and that's spend one week on Twitch and the other on CZcams. Streamed on twitch for 4 years. Avoided the affiliate program when that came out. Knew that was a scam the day it was announced. The writings been on the wall for 2-3 years now. Twitch is hemorrhaging money and are desperately trying any way they can to keep the money in house.
I’m honestly waiting for the day that they announce the end of Prime subs! I feel like that loses them wayyy too much money and it’s just a matter of time
I hope everyone is aware that behaviour has added the maps flag, i just played against an oni and he had that flag so i had to dc, i am not playing against or with people that are attracted to children, look into it.
This has a larger impact on smaller content creators. It's a smart move for Twitch. Streamers with low-quality content FAR outweighs that of larger, production quality streams. That's a LOT of bandwidth. They're looking for Quality over quantity. Smart move. Go to other platforms if you're looking for low production streams. Feed into the cloud 9 dreams they're trying to sell. At least Twitch has a backbone for moderation compared to the others.

as a small non affiliate streamer on twitch i don't think the new policy's apply to me but i understand the frustration as taking away peoples income isn't right i hope this gets changes for the health of the platform, but if not i feel like CZcams will become the new twitch with a few upgrades of course
if i switch platforms ill just go to youtube which was what i was gonna do originally until a friend of mine showed me twitch and i started with that. granted if i do make the switch it will be an entirely fresh start again which im not overly fond of.
I’d definitely say do it gradually then :) get your current audience used to you streaming over on CZcams by doing 1 or 2 a week and promoing the shit out of it on your Twitch :)
@@AaronDukeYT thanks for the feedback, i plan on doing just that actually because i already have to redo my streamlabs and everything and atm i just do not have the energy to manually make all my scenes right now. not only that i have to figure out the tipping thing for paypal since i dont want to make my account a business account but i also do not want to go through the hassle of paypals onboarding a second time lol i had massive issues with my id not getting accepted due to the glint in the plastic when i take a photo of it.
I have noticed that a lot of former twitch streamers are shining light on some of these new guidelines that they are 'enforcing', and a few even left for other streaming platforms and i don't blame them at all, maybe it is time for a change.
Well my thoughts are that I have been streaming on Twitch for 9yrs and I have noticed the huge impact on all of the wrong turns they have taken over the years, I think this is another wrong turn for them as they are just making it harder and harder for content creators to actually make it a full time endevour its just going to make it worse for small streamers and those who are at the top 1% wont have much of an issue with the changes just those who are under 10k followers.

I'm still very small so I'm not really sure what all this means. I have trouble keeping up with TOS and all that. It's a disaster though. I really don't want Twitch to go under but That might be the case. I guess CZcams might be the best option if it comes down to it. I'll stick with Twitch for now and if It all goes down hill I'll start slowly shifting to CZcams. I'll be sure to do some research.

I really only just got here on twitch, I'm almost 100 followers. Would seem a shame to throw it all away.
Over the past couple of years i've went from mixer, to twitch, to trovo, to youtube, back to twitch and i'll say that Trovo has the most "fun" experience for viewers BUT it's a heavily mobile gaming streaming site which makes it hard to grow as a content creator outside of that space. CZcams has it's benefits but as you stated, the "fun" isn't there for viewers and me personally as a viewer it's rough to watch at least on PC because if you do theatre mode then chat is under the stream and if you don't then you're looking at a lot of negative space around the actual content but...the chat is on the right side which is just overall a better looking and feeling position to both chat and watch streams.....Shareplay is another new up an coming streaming site as well that is in it's early stages and from my understanding, ran by ex mixer partners and mixer streamers so it has some of the fun things mixer had but it's still in alpha testing so there's not a lot of streams to watch and you can't really see if vods get saved or how clips will work etc but something to keep an eye out for. This is all just my personal experience over the last 4 years casually streaming.
I think I may go with Kick. Only because with CZcams, you make one wrong move and boom your channel is demonetized.
I'll be moving here to youtube, I only had 200 followers on twitch so not like I have much to lose anyway.
I'll still side stream on twitch, but mostly going to move to video creation, as my community does tell me the videos and vods are more enjoyable anyway.

Hello, Aaron, these are good points. I wanted to share a thought that may be good for the DBD community. Sadly Puppers has recently crossed and he was all about kindness and positivity. The DBD community has been plagued with toxicity.
I thought it might be a wonderful way to honor his memory by starting a "Positivity for Puppers" movement that would promote positive interactions between gamers and positive , active support of content creators?
What exactly would the movement entail? It’s a cute idea! But we don’t want to just use his name for the sake of it, if that makes sense?
@Aaron Duke Game , exactly. He was so loved and respected. With so much toxicity in the DBD community I was thinking of either:
1) A charity event or marathon of some sort to help pay for his outstanding bills and funeral costs
2) It could be a charity event or marathon for ALS research
3) A movement to honor his memory like setting a day of kindness to each other while playing DBD while encouraging kindness everyday
I thought if celebrities like you and your compatriots would be willing to collaborate, it could draw a large number of followers to help make this a reality. It just feels odd not to honor him somehow in a way that was big as his heart.

If I was about to start streaming I would do it on CZcams, Twitch is not a safe place to start a career. CZcams will always be around, and it has more people. No one should be ok with a 50/50.
I think for me I’ve always wanted to have myself in multiple places so that if one does ever fall I have a back up, basically not putting all my eggs into one basket. The idea of only being in one place terrifies me 😂

I'm pretty sure Purplecliffe (pokemon content creator) had a very horrid experience being a Twitch partner over a year ago and has made the switch to CZcams streaming since then. He regularly talks about how much better streaming feels to him right now.
Twitch didnt take it well and actually dragged on erasing the channel for months and tried to trick him into keeping it up, just to be sure to keep charging those subscribers who forgot to cancel their subscriptions.
Overall very greedy.
Not to touch on how they handled the TwitchCon tragedy last year with that streamer who literally broke her back because of their negligence.
Having a checkmark on Twitch now is as relevant as having one on Twitter.

Twitch from what I’ve seen is money hungry and is definitely getting hard for people who stream on it to make revenue but personally I’m not streaming because I want money it’s the biggest steaming platform so I do it to hopefully entertain people so for me I’ll be staying until it is hit the bottom of the barrel

I absolutely HATE CZcams's streaming....it's just so lackluster with minimal options for interaction and emotes. A streamer on Twitch I follow is moving over to Kick, and I checked that out, and it's setup is almost identical to Twitch, so at least the transition won't be so jarring, but it remains to be seen if it's reputation is warranted. Overall, I think it would be better for everyone involved for Twitch to just get their heads out of their asses! lol

CZcams -> All my videos are archive there. I rarely stream on it just cause the lack of stuff that Twitch has for channel points, animated emotes, and etc.
Twitch -> I'll be streaming there once a week just cause their immature changes of getting more Ls than CZcams's Ws... Ofc they want $25 while I'll give them my middle finger for their gratitude.
Kick -> I'll be streaming there several times a week to see it for myself in a better comfort zone.
Rumble -> I'll be uploading RPG Maker game and my project game videos over there since I can't livestream with 5 subs needed... (~_~)

Kick might be an unsafe cesspool, but so is twitch. There is still horrible political biases and several of their "safety team" used their positions to silence people they didnt like.
So imo, 95 percent income is not something to ignore because "internet people mean"
Don't forget Twitch being incredibly biased and sexist in favor of women. If I were to slip and get mad and drop the hard R word, I could lose my whole channel but a woman can legit have full blown sex while live and only get a 7 day ban then come back as if nothing happened
Twitch has always been a mid platform
First I smashed dislike. Twitch streamers cried so hard about, like a teenager who got just told he have to go home at 8. But I am glad that halfway I realised that this video is thinked over, and not just some babyrage about the topic
And to be honest - as a viewer I would see that my creator would say (and I talk about the most loud ones, the top creators) that sorry guys i cannot make a living from your money even tho you throw thousands of dollars to me so screw you I leave, but you should follow and keep give me money ... Well I wouldn't follow, and wouldn't watch them even if they stay on twitch.
I think the thing about these changes is that the remove the ability to make money WITHOUT having to ask audiences for contributions. It moves Twitch to a place of having the best chance of an income coming from your viewers, which isn’t good at all!
