I just wanted to say thank you! I was able to fix my TV with no previous experience, thanks to your video. It took about 6 hours and now the TV works again and looks fantastic!!
Thank you again for posting this video!

As a former technician, my take on this is: Before going through all this work, you need to verify that the power supply is not at fault. Checking the power supply's output voltages with the system under power, and using a Digital Volt meter is how to do it. Also, checking for any excessive AC ripple on the DC outputs is a good idea. If the power supply is bad, it could mean many things: Bad solder joints, bad capacitors, possibly an overload external to the supply, causing it to shut down. A question I have is, are these LED strips serial, or parallel, or both? Are there any fuses associated with the LED strips? My experience with LED strips is that they are very delicate, and it is easy to create an open circuit unless they care handled with care.

Apparently there are two LED versions for this Tv. Is there any way to find out if Ver 1 or Ver 2 of the LED Strip without tearing the whole tv a part?

Do you have a tutorial for a Sony XBR-65X900A?. Looking on your website, it appears that this model only uses 4 strips and may run vertical instead of horizontal. Thank you.

Question if you can assist, had my 2018 Sony 900f have the flashing red light was told backlight issue guy that fixed it first time left visible tape on bottom of the screen (showed a black outline) now now one area seems darker. Possible he used aftermarket led strips? Told me was using Sony parts could that be the cause? Thanks

Parts are cheap, the work is in taking it apart. Renew the whole set to make sure the colors and brightness are consistent and it will be good for at least another 5 years

that reflector looks crap. don't know he cut out the center. also use hot air to take off the led strips and use gloves with the refactor and filters.
tbh that looks like it'll have shadows and finger prints all over the screen

Oops now something else doesn't work, take it apart again, rinse and repeat until you get so frustrated you smash it in a fit of rage. Thanks but, I'm just gonna buy a new TV.
