This is probably too late to mention but I think it only makes sense that Natsu can't eat his own flames. Because if you think about it, if he has a certain amount of magic energy that he can use, then creating flames would use some of that magic energy. So eating his own flames would just give him back the energy he used to create the flames. So... yeah that's what I think makes sense

animefan!!!! u3p nah not really, usually a character will either undergo rigorous training before fighting an enemy that is so much stronger than them at first (that or they will lose) but you won't ever see them get a vast power boost mid battle ( excluding Gohan vs cell because he already had that power he just didn't know how to use it).

The version of One Piece Dwayne is talking about is the 4kids dub. I highly recommend watching the Funimation dub. Also there are several hundred episodes of One Piece, so if you start watching it you're going to be in it for the long haul.

Now, the Natsu from this video vs Sabo, that could be debated. But we still need more info on Sabo. Both Sabo and Fujitora where not trying hard in there battle, so we can't really scale his peak yet. We will have to wait. Let's se if he intervinenes on the Elbaf arc (I don't think he will), or we will have to wait until the final fight in Marejois to see his peak.
