  • Take a look at this beauty! Decked out with LED's throughout, a new motor for the spinning disc and all the usual TNT Amusements touches that make this game simply STUNNING! Could this be based on the Disney movie? Hmmm!

New fan here.. played recently more pinball tables and also virtual ones.. this machine i never came across irl but im about to. The virtual version of this machine made me fall in love because the gameplay is so good. Pretty hard to get to multiball with all bonusses but when you get it it will blast your highscore into space ❤
The dual layer multi-ball really messes with your brain haha its just too good.

It's basically a virtual video game of it, also not only do they have black hole but a ton of other awesome tables. I'm still learning about it but it's from a company called FarSight Studios and they have a website if anyone is interested. I think it's just amazing and my son has gotten into it himself. [6:20] I throw them away and use Stepper motors scavenged from old commercial printers, use Arduino Nano with a L298 H-bridge driver. Readily available parts. The stepper motor noise not that hard to deal with ,be running very low power will not make the familiar Stepper noise.
System1 and system 80 a b c ruined Gottlieb's reputation over using flat pins on their PCBs bad contacts and their somewhat odd circuit grounds. System 3 is solid enough I believe it was just too expensive to produce.
Favorite Gottlieb? "Hollywood Heat" It's artwork layout is so bad it begged me to replace that yellowed translite with my own creation.

Surprisingly, a website called ModMyPin.com actually makes glow-in-the-dark pinballs! They were made to mainly be used in Sega's Viper Night Drivin', but Black Hole would look awesome with them. On their website, there's actually a video showing how great the effect really is. The only problem is that the outer shell is made of plastic (with a steel core for playfield magnets), so the lifespan is somewhat reduced. However, they claim that the plastic is much harder than the original Viper Night Drivin' balls. Also, they're $60(!) for a 4-pack! Definitely an insanely steep price, but still an intriguing idea!

It looks to me that instead of being officially licensed by Disney, this machine may have just been conveniently manufactured/timed to coincide with the release of the film. For one thing, none of the artwork resembles anything from the movie. Second, the pinball game is called 'Black Hole' while the film's title was 'The Black Hole'. Rob Jones Well...the movie came out in 1979...and this game in 1981 (so it started development perhaps in late 79 early 80?) Paying licensing to Disney would have been extra-ordinary too...and the words Black Hole really cannot be copyrighted anyway, so releasing it later (especially since by 1981 everyone kind of forgotten about the movie), was a no-brainer!! I would have to guess that the designers got the idea from the movie!! AND, you have to admit the swirling circle in the pinball machine is awfully like the logo at the end of this video!!!
