Bel Air is situated about 12 miles (19 km) west of Downtown Los Angeles, set entirely within the Santa Monica Mountains. It lies across Sunset Boulevard from the northern edge of the main campus of the University of California, Los Angeles. At the heart of the community sits the Bel-Air Country Club and the Hotel Bel-Air.
Together with Beverly Hills and Holmby Hills, Bel Air forms the Platinum Triangle of Los Angeles neighborhoods.
Along with Beverly Hills and the Los Angeles community of Brentwood, Bel Air is part of a high-priced area on the Westside known as the "three Bs."
Television shows and films have been filmed in Bel Air, or are said to take place in the community. Exterior shots for the Beverly Hillbillies were shot in and around 750 Bel Air Road,[38] built by Lynn Atkinson (and later sold to hotelier Arnold Kirkeby after Atkinson's wife refused to move into a house she thought too ostentatious). Several scenes in the film "Get Hard" (2015) were set in Bel Air. Exterior scenes from films such as Get Shorty (1995) have also been filmed in the area.[citation needed] Several episodes of the television show The Rockford Files were filmed in Bel Air.
The television sitcom The Fresh Prince of Bel-Air, starring actor and rapper Will Smith, was set in the neighborhood, although the exterior shots used were filmed in nearby Brentwood.

Man driving around here brings back so many found memories. When I was a kid, we used to say at house on Stradella Drive (House is no more sadly) every summer from 94-02 when my Dad was friends with an American who he worked with in Saudi Arabia.
oh the house is gone? must've been torn down and a huge home was built on
@@Omwvlog Yeah it was torn down couple years ago sadly, though the house thats there now is nice, big but nice. The new House recently sold for something around $30 million i think.

Yes Holmby Hills is a more exclusive area that borders Bel Air and Beverly Hills. The three make up the "Platinum Triangle".
Nice drive. My prevailing thought was, I know a lot of liberal minded people who live in Bel air. They are very against the idea of a border wall but not a wall around their home. And both serve the same purpose.
