I have one of these but no tapes. When I hit play it does nothing (no movement), but I'm guessing it may be because there isn't a tape in it and it may be more sophisticated than a basic tape player that would work even without a tape in it. The eject and close work fine. Can you check and let me know if this is the same for yours? will it do anything without a tape in it?
