So, instead of humiliating him with a devastating TKO in brutal fashion, he decides to give Nick a little dignity to leave with and takes a couple combos to the face. Robbie throws a couple stiff hooks and straight crosses every now and then, giving Nick an opportunity to take an out. Once Nick decided it was enough, he took that cross + hook and never got back up lol

And when Nick goes down, he does not pounce on him, trying to get a finish etc.

Looking back at it here Diaz doesn’t look as slow as I remembered because he got hit with some bombs within the 1st minute and so I believe he was hurt and hiding it well but being hurt slows one down! Even though he’s a master at hiding when he’s hurt it affected his speed but he was pressing forward to mask being hurt because if he kept retreating it would’ve encouraged Lawler to end it sooner!
