- Tom Ellis breaks down all the shocking moments from ‘Lucifer’ 5B and teases season 6 in this new interview with ET’s Katie Krause. He talks about Lucifer seemingly becoming God and what that means for the character’s future, and hints at a Deckerstar proposal after putting the ring on Chloe’s ring finger. Tom Ellis is a bloody brilliant actor. I cannot imagine anyone else playing a good twin and an evil twin so convincingly, and with so much charisma. In fact, the entire cast did such a splendid job. Season 5B was a rollercoaster of emotions.

I love the fact that interviewer actually watched the show. A while back Lucifer was been interviewed by another presenter and after the first ten minutes it was clear that she had not watched the show, the audience knew it and Tom Ellis knew it as well. This made for a very akward interview. If you not going to watch the show at least do some research on the show before asking questions.

But, bare in mind depending on the channel they might disable the link. Most channel don't want you going to another channel from their channel so their disable the link. This means that if your comment contains a youtube url the comment won't show up.
I agree about the research, but it's unrealistic to expect an interviewer to watch, in their entirety, every show that their guests are on. I believe that someone else is suppose to get that information for them and give them talking points and a bit of background information. The bad interview was probably the fault of someone other that the interviewer.
Naked and Afraid was one of the best episodes. That was scary and hilarious!

He is such a great actor that I sometimes forget that he plays both micheal and lucifer, because they're such different characters portrayed so detailed to all the way to the smallest mannerisms, facial movements, body language. The 2 characters truly seem so rawly like different people
also Michael uses American English and Lucifer uses British English
If season 6 is truly going to be the finally it will truly be quite weird to see Tom Ellis as any other character rather then Lucifer but that goes to show if you are good at what you do and have made a successful acting career you will be forever know as a character you have portrayed.

I have a feeling it'll be even more complex than that, and finding out about the divine will just be the beginning of her storyline if they do what I suspect... they might potentially draw off of a storyline/character from the comic series. The show is only very loosely based on those graphic novels, but this past season had quite a few easter eggs from the comics, so it's possible they might just go for it...

I get the feeling the "villain" could be Ella since her inner darkness is mentioned a lot this season and perhaps with the realization of the celestial world, her faith is challenged which pushes her towards that darkness for a while?
I also wonder if they'll do a surprise twist of her being somehow tied to divine heritage as well, perhaps why there is a powerful darkness there, and another reason why Azrael is connected to her. It's not too far a reach that they'll draw off a comic element (yes, the series is only very loosely based on the comics, but there were some great easter eggs in this season, like the mention of the centaurs in the alternate universe). Could Ella be short for Elaine? (If you've read the comics, you'll get how big a crazy twist that could be...)

@@farhansobri6314 Just a *Spoilers* warning for anyone that wants to read the comics, don't read below this, but honestly even knowing what I write below, it's totally worth a read. It's one of the few graphic novels that I own the whole series and go back and re-read them every few years (the other exception is the Sandman comics which are phenomenal as well):
Elaine Belloc is introduced in the Lucifer comics as a girl that has the special ability to communicate with spirits of the dead and see into the open minds of others. But eventually throughout her journey you discover she is actually a Nephilim, and her father is the arch angel Michael (I don't think they'll go that exact direction in the show, even if they make Ella divine). Michael is a vastly different character (and not Lucifer's twin) in the comics.
Also, the gateway/alternate universe storyline used for the Goddess (God's wife; who doesn't exist in the comics) is Lucifer's story where he actually leaves God's reality and creates his own reality in which he becomes God of that creation. Eventually 'God ' does decide to retire/leave reality, for many reasons (including allowing free will; something he automatically usurps when he interacts with it, which is why he rarely interferes), and Elaine Belloc ascends to become the new God of creation; though rather than ruling above like Yahweh, she merges with the universe and rules by being one with it.
Obviously this is an absurd simplification of a vastly complex story, and there are so many good twists and turns in the series. But in case you never check it out, now you have a very basic overview, and why I think they might use this storyline in the TV series (albeit a far more simplified version of course).

Lucifer is my absolute favorite series right now and will remain as one of my favs forever. Started watching it maybe a week ago and I've finally just today watched the last episode of s5.
I got attached to this show upon watching the trailer, one little trailer, and that's never happened before. I fell in love with Lucifer immediately and now I'm in love with a lot of the other characters, too. I've cried and felt such heartbreak at some of the more emotional episodes, grieving the loss of a character or the inevitable end of the show altogether. It's hard getting so emotionally invested and attached to a show and it's characters, because when it ends it feels like they die. But in the same way death makes life meaningful, the end to a show makes it meaningful, too, right? It can't be immortal, they'd run out of good content. Still, it will always hurt deeply when it ends. I'll always long for more.
This show went to a whole other lever when Netflix took over. I liked the first three seasons, but i loooove season 4 and 5!

Im rewatching and I’m gonna jump to the ending of season 3 when i finish season 1 because the intervening 35 or so episodes are just… off track. Chloe skirts around the edge of discovering his true identity from the pilot episode itself and then it’s all forgotten for two seasons and only picked up after Pierce dies. Got a little impatient about Deckerstar there.
I want to see how he reforms Hell, knowing the trapped souls can find redemption with guidance. Especially for Dan...

I think it might be Ella he said it's a character we already met and I felt Ella really tap into her darkness this season. Maybe Ella's faith shatters when she learns God left and Lucifer the devil is now God but she will ultimately redeem herself in the end sort of like a dark willow ending.

Yes I think you might be onto something! I feel like the whole "darkness" storyline for ella wasn't fully explored yet
i think Ella might "fall" in the similar sense that Lucifer did. or at the very least fall a way a human could fall from grace.
She could sorta be like what happened to Lucifer before and become sort of a fallen angel but instead of casting her out like with what God did to Luci he could be like the better version of God and accept and help her instead
i think it will be dan, cause we saw what few seconds did to malcom in hell season 1 and i think lucifer will bring dan back to the land of the living and he'll be well... dark...
I quite liked how they got back together properly near the start of one the episodes - where Lucifer realises it doesn't matter if he loves Chloe or not, if they both want to be together for genuine reasons they should be together. I had been thinking the same thing throughout the previous few episodes.

Saving this show was a MIRACLE in and of itself. How often does that happen? Divine it IS. I honestly think God loves the creativity, ingenuity and storyline. Honestly it is the SECOND GREATEST STORY EVER TOLD. Second only to the ONE that is never mentioned in this one due to the controversy that would have affected its success. I LOVE BOTH personally.

I thought that was all amenedial that he blessed chloes mother or something maybe it wasn’t god at all and he knows nothing about it.
I think the writes have just decided to stick with chole was made for lucifer to be his lover.
I thought they already had? The gift was that Chloe didn't see her own desires reflected back at her, so she's the only person that can see him for who he is.

Tom, Thank you for your insights behind Lucifer’s character and actions in this 5B and what to expect for the upcoming final season.
This is kind of annoying to me how everyone keeps saying its first time he admitted his Love for chloe. He said it before as well when the first woman lucifer loved prophecy episode happened, they assumed it was EVE. Lucifer told Chloe she is the one who he fell in love with and she has always been the one. Its poor writing in my opinion.

Yeah I remember that too and it’s pretty obvious they know his love for her but I think what Chloe in the show and in general the makers are trying to get at is him saying three words as is. And after that confession shit happened and he went back to hell with no intention of return then when he came back situations were different. Time had gone by. Then obviously from there it just snowballed into one thing after the other and deckerstar didn’t really get time to process that confession or Chloe to make sense of it enough to believe it so I guess Chloe was unsure again since things were left abruptly that’s why I guess him properly saying I love you is being treated as a first time huge thing . I think that’s what the writers are trying to hint at from what I understand
I agree. I took him saying "you're my first love" as him saying "I love you." However; conotatively they mean two different things. Also, Chloe wasn't sure what he meant. She needed to hear those three words in that order.
I remember waching season 1 and encouraging my friends to watch Lucifer then how we created the movement #savelucifer and now I'm so happy how the story is going and how the cast is happy with it too

OMG, that killed me. I love Dan. Trixie finding out was gut wrenching. When she begged Lucifier to tell her her dad wasn't really dead because Lucifer always tells the truth and he said, "I'm sorry my dear sweet child, I cannot say that'. Holy crap, did I sob like an idiot. And when poor Trixie told Maze it wasn't true about Dan and Maze tried to stop crying for Trixie's sake...good Lord. Gut wrenching!

Recently finished Season 5 b and the finale gave me all the feels! It was truly EPIC. For Lucifer fans it was so incredibly satisfying. The only downside of finishing watching season 5 b is I can't wait to watch season 6! Please don't keep us waiting too long !!!😇🥰😉
The trouble with reprising a role when the character is immortal is that the actor playing them isn't immortal. They would have to CGI Tom Ellis face as it is now onto his future face just to keep the continuity!

Lucifer is my favorite show and I can't get enough. I love the characters and the quirks. Tom Ellis is one of my favorite actors. I am delighted there's going to be another season. I'm not sure that'll be enough.
If there were 50 seasons, I would still watch it with love

Like most I have already binged 5B. It went the way I expected it to, but not without quite a few surprises. I love, love, loved it and can't wait for season 6, though I am in no rush for the end of the series.☺️🥰

Ellis plays dashing and refined great, but in real life he is a down to Earth family man and dad. Real cool unassuming guy actually. Cool to see him dressed as a regular dude, not all dolled up and such.
Speak for yourself! There's something about a man in fine cut cloth, especially when the man is just as fine... Tom wears those 3 piece suits VERY well. The wardrobe people deserve commendations.
@@UpRoaryus I mean I am a straight man but sure I like seeing the suits and wardrobe and such. It is just cool to see someone like that out of character just as regular guy. Like Hugh Jackman is a dashing and refined guy as well, but when he isn't in character he is a down to earth dude.
So agree! Seeing all “at home” vids, unscripted stuff showing what a wonderful “regular” guy he is, ie involved in many charities,”i will never love a cat”, now has 2, etc makes me adore him all the more. Not a phony or conceited bone in his being.
Lucifer has taken the Hero's Journey. I think when Tom says he'll come full circle, we'll see him reign in Hell, but with the knowledge and experience he now has, will implement the premise that even in the depths of Tartarus people can change. A more benevolent ruler.

I am so happy guys that we have a 'clear' end of season 5. Imagen it would end when Lucifer put the ring on Cloes finger and everything is white. We wouldn't know if they survived (we would all know they probably would but you know ... the feeling...) or if Lucifer would beat Micheal or not. I couldn't sleep one night until season 6 so I am really happy about this ending!
Good thing that I saw all the new 8 episodes right after it was released, bc this video had the biggest spoilers of the show and no spoiler alert
