"I don't like cute concept"
Well you didn't...until you meet TWICE. Their past material is "cute" but it's a lot deeper than the sound would have you believe. I do recommend you keep going back from most recent to their older work, this way you can see the evolution and growth. The music grew up WITH them, which really helps differentiate them from the rest. And even their cute songs had depth to their lyrics. They are also constantly trying new things and honestly aren't limited to a single concept.
People don't recommend TWICE because they hate their success. Because they're the competition so of course they don't want you to like them. Anyway, I highly recommend you to listen to a wide variety of not just their title tracks but their b-sides as well, and you can make your own conclusions. Don't let others dictate what's cool and what isn't - make that decision yourself.

Its true that Twice BACK THEN is very cute but being cute/hyper feminine shouldnt be degraded because even in this days there are other fandoms already ruining other reactors impression of twice as this "cringy cutesy group", yes they arr very cute but they are much more than that, the reason twice became the National Girl Group of Korea isnt because of their beauty and concept alone but it is their relatability through their lyrics. Most fans nowadays just stick to visuals or instrumentals but i think they should stick to the meaning of the song too.
For example Likey, which its chorus and the image porttrayed is this very cutesy and colorful song especially on the chrous part but this song has a deep meaning. Its about how women or people in general portray a very impossible or diffrent life from their usual life on social media, it shows how they take photos wearing makeup and a smile tho they arent genuinely happy, an outfit that they had to sacrifice eating just to fit on, and how they portray a perfect life in instagram just for a "LIKE".

Never judge a book by its cover! I don’t think it’s fair to disregard a whole ‘concept’ and style because every group is different and approaches their given themes differently. Twice isn’t just cute, their whole discography is based off the growth of a teenage girl into her adult life so I think it’s unfair to disregard their hard work by just assuming it’s the stereotypical average cute song, but yes, this video proves that people have the wrong perceptions of twice :) Great reaction though!

@Elizabeth Robin Anyone can listen to cry for me and it actually isn’t a fan song it was gonna be the Main song instead of “I Can’t Stop Me” but JYP said it didn’t fit their image so it didn’t make it onto the album so when they did Mama2020 it hit 5x harder because they basically did a comeback as their end of year performance compared to everyone who just did their already released songs.

Seriously, im not into cute songs but its different with Twice. Their songs makes me happy. There is something about their music that you cant hate. Thats why i dont understand why some haters hate them because of their music. You can dislike their music coz we all have different preferences but hating them, bashing them is too much.

Twice prejudices are very strong. After these prejudices are broken, people realize that even songs you think you don't like are really good. There are also many hidden treasures on the twices B-side. "Make me go" " Love foolish" " all Eyes Wide Open album B-Side songs" etc.

Twice is five year old group but despite they're still young. They got popular because of their concept in their first 2 yrs, 3 of them are 16 y/o yet. Their discography is so good and they participate a lot too. All their songs which people find cringey mostly by people who actually don't know them. Their songs cheer up, tt, likey, knock knock, likey, signal, are their cute songs which they released in just 2 yrs along with some japanese tracks which actually made them too famous in japan like candy pop, bdz, and more ( cause they have so many japanese bop songs). But in 2018 they started to slowly try other concept, twice grow along with their music. Their songs match their age. In 2018 they did 3 korean bops, and more japanese bops., YESor YES, Dance the night away, what is love. They won song of the year for 3 yrs. In 2019 they did fancy, feel special, breakthrough. In 2019 they did more and more, i cant stop me and cry for me. In conclusion, their passion in music and their dedication as artist is really visible. You could never know someone unless you actually learn about them. Watch their lives, ballads, they sexy performances, badass perf. They can pull of everything. In conclusion, for me they are underrated, they deserve more attention and popularity.
Well I can say their "cutesy" concepts are more on a "fun" songs and their cuteness is not something 'force' that's why a lot of people really enjoy their music. And if you dig deeper you'll see they have a wide range of discography :) And also a great personalities❤️ Thanks for reacting to them!!💕

Feel Special was written by their producer after he sat down and talked to them about what was going on in their lives. It is about them and how the other members of the group lift each other up.
Tbh.. the first thing that hook me into Twice are not their songs or concept but their personalities. Ngl i don't like their cutesy stuff at first, but then when i got to know about them more.. i finally can accept their Bubble gum pop music, because i know they are just pure cutesy.
But don't get me wrong, they can slay any concept tho not just cute concept
Their past songs were very bright and cute... But they are naturally cute... Sana is known to be the cutest human being

Feel special - it is a very emotional song actually.
At that time, Mina (the girl in forest) was having anxiety issues and taking a break. It was to comfort her.
Tzuyu is shown inside a doll house as people constantly say she's very pretty and all( 1st on Tc Chandler most beautiful faces 2019). They say she has no talent and is just a visual. We see momo rescuing her because tzuyu told that momo constantly reminds her of her worth and keeps on praising her singing and dancing skills making her feel like a human and not just a doll.
Jihyo had knee surgery and nayeon was there for her. She struggled practicing for new songs and nayeon stayed beside her until midnight always helping her and supporting her.
Sana mentioned that she is easily hurt by hate comments and she takes them to heart. So it's like she's sitting in a corner by herself and thinking about everything going on.
Chaeyoung(one at the start) is thinking about her insecurities. She wants to readress herself and become confident. She doesn't know where she belongs and is wondering if she really made the right choice (becoming an idol). Chaeyoung and mina meet each other and help each other out.
Jeongyeon is an introvert and had serious trouble speaking freely on cameras. Twice helped her socialize and brought out the real her.
Dahyun is walking under the rain under an umbrella. If you look closely, the rain signifies the anti fans and haters and the colour of the umbrella is the same as that of twice lightstick meaning once's protect/shield them always by their side not letting them get hurt so they can walk confidently.
"You make me feel speacial~" is like them telling once's and each other how precious and valuable they are in their lives.
I swear when dahyun says "you make everything alright~" it gets me....
Meaning: even with so much pressure for success, haters, their insecurities, anxiety etc. They feel happy with once's. Once's make everything seem alright😭🤧❤

It’s totally okay to not like cuter concepts! The problem is that a lot of people make it seem like it’s shameful to be cute and feminine, and use it to hype up other artists that are more on the girl crush side of kpop. Being ”cutesy” is NOT shameful and is as valid as other form of expressions.
Their earlier stuff is pretty cutesy. But, they’re songs to me always leaned toward pop and all the song have such catchy choruses. For me, their song “Fancy” was the turning point to a more mature concept.
Their recent stuff are mature, their earlier stuff are cute, but catchy not cringy, also nothing beats Feel special, the meaning of this song is amazing

I know it's the old video, but in case you haven't said it already, "Feel Special" is a very significant song since it was released in 2019 (a time when Twice had a very bad time due to different conflicts such as the anxiety of Mina, the hate towards Sana, etc) so the song was written by the Ex-Ceo of the company (JYP), implying that between them and the fandom (Once) they make them feel special and support each other. That's why in the M/V they smile at each other. That's why the song means so much to Once and to them. 😄
People who don't like cute concepts are the sad ones, I am once a pessimistic and a suicidal person and getting to know Twice and listening to their music change everything about myself.

Unfortunately, there's a stigma against "cute concepts," because in many western countries, cuteness is often associated with weakness and naivete, so women are supposed to be aggressive and powerful. But honestly, there's nothing wrong with being cute, whether you're male or female. It's just another expression of yourself. Being cute is also a "power," because it's disarming. I remember hearing an old Korean expression that "a smiling face cannot be spit on." 😊 Also, groups that are pigeonholed as "cutesy" have some of the best choruses and melodies, so if you skip music from "cute groups," you might be missing out on some really catchy bops. 🤗

Yes Twice had a cute concept but keep in mind that most of them were minors when they debuted. They were just doing music that was age appropriate in my opinion, and they eventually grew out of that concept as they got older. I personally love both their cute stuff and the music they create now, but it's understandable if you don't wanna delve into their early discography not everyone is gonna like that same thing :)

They start off with a cuter concept and gradually evolved through time until recent years they start adopted more sexy concept into their music. I Can't Stop Me is the latest few MV along the line so that one is more mature. If you go back their earlier MV like Yes or Yes, TT, What is Love?, Cheer Up are more bubbly cute than their later MV.
P.S: Feel Special release right after one of their member Mina suffered from anxiety attack, so their boss JYP intentional write this song to comfort her and other alike, to make them Feel Special again while encouraging each other in the MV with their kind smile.

*Regarding* *Twice,* *I* *have* *to* *recommend* *watching* *music* *videos* *chronologically.* There are two important reasons for this. At 1st You can see how They evolves over time and at 2nd Some videos refer to each other.
Yeah twice was known for their cute hyper feminine concepts , but they always had deeper meanings , i guess since we’re all growing twice had to get mature a little bit so their new concepts caught us all by surprise ❤️
A lot of people will try to bring down Twice and disregard their hard work. They do have a couple of "cute" songs but I would mostly describe their music as fun and uplifting. Their music was suited for the ages the girls were at the time, our maknae being 16 when she debuted. And certain members had expressed that they didn't feel comfortable doing anything outside of what they were doing for fear that they wouldn't be able to execute it properly.
But they have grown and with them their music, even if they're not doing "cute" concept I don't see Twice trying hard to follow the recent trends in Kpop which is something I truly appreciate. This is to each their own.
The Twice discography is such an amazing journey because they literally have something for everyone, and even songs you wouldn't think you'd like you end up vibing to.
I'm completely biased yes, but also have been a fan of kpop for a very long time and no other group has made me feel what Twice has managed for 5 years. The reason why they're so successful isn't just because of their catchy music but because the girls have brilliant personalities and have been praised countless of times.
They're all so talented and always working hard to be better, while being humble not letting their insane fame get to their heads. Everything they do, they do with Once in mind. Which is why it's so upsetting the amount of hate they get and how easily disregarded they are.

Twice’s discography is basically a girl growing into a woman. Their songs and albums all have a connection somehow. You basically watch them grow with every album and it is really beautiful.
Their older songs did have more of a cuter concept, but they were extremely catchy and they were really good. I can definitely say this though, no matter what type of concept they do they do it amazingly each time. They can switch up and that is really good that they can do multiple concepts and do them well.
i suggest you checkout Fancy and Cry For Me (Choreo Video 2) next! Trust me, you'll love em.
And seeing as how you mentioned it, ppl really love discrediting all that twice has achieved while doing cute concepts in the past but now that they've transitioned and are still going strong.
the reason why you didnt get any twice recommendations is because people often limit twice to the word "Cutesy", cause they're all still living in 2016 - 2018. They shown a lot of artistic growth and they even contribute to the song writing (since 2016 actually). Ppl have been brainwashed into thinking Twice is nothing but a bunch of girls doing cute cringy shit when in reality it's not like that at all.

Most people who heard about TWICE from other people and dive into them with a preconception of cute usually became biased against their sound even after hearing it. And I get it. It's easy to jump into anything that has the majority.
And as a ONCE, I don't really recommend TWICE when people already heard of them(but never really checked them out). Curiosity opens the mind and lets go of prejudice. I noticed that people who were proven wrong about "TWICE's hyperfeminine concept is cringy" are actually those who are genuinely curious about them.

They were looking at each other like that in Feel special because the song is a culmination of their fears, their worries and their struggles with fame and popularity but also the support they have from their fans and each other. The song was written based on words spoken by each of the members (and it hit/touched fans hard because Mina (She wore the ballgown in the forest) was suffering from anxiety and poor mental health due to their hectic schedules and despite being on hiatus for a few months, appeared in the video and literally sang her own experience.)

Usually I am start liking a group and maybe I can get out of it and become a normal fan (bored easily) but twice is an exception for that one FOR MANY YEARS!
dUh twice music is never cringey, like when I got into kpop I heard about them but I never really checked them, like I didn't even know they only did cute concepts. and besides I listened to 'What Is Love?' that is one of the cutest songs ever probably? but the mv?? the lyrics?? that song is an actual bop?? you can NEVER say you don't like something if you don't try it before. in fact, after twice became my ults, (their personalities are gold, I recommend you to whatch time to twice on their yt channe) my mind is literally open to anything, like I really can't judge anything rn. literally eyes wide open (that is the best album of 2020 periodt)

This is why people shouldn't say they dislike a group or singer without listening to them first. I prefer girl groups that start off cute and innocent and change into more mature concepts throughout the years. Another group I like is Red Velvet. These groups rock any concepts.

I love twice
Twice started out with a cute concept and kept that same concept from 2015 to 2018. Since the beginning of 2019-ish they've been doing a lot more mature concepts!!
Back then their concept is cute but now is more mature concept. I love all twice songs coz it's so meaningful. They called TWICE coz they will catch you once through the eyes because of their beauty and once through the ears because of their catchy music. Their personality is also so good if you know more about them. Thank you for reacting. STAN TWICE🍭❤️

I listened to them occasionally when their had the cute concept cuz I’m not that into that but since fancy they have a much mature and sexy and grown concept that now I love them! They still cute though but this type of approach is way better for them and for me hehe. Nice video ☺️

Honestly im a big fan of TWICE not because they are popular, second popular to BP, cutesy concept, they are beautiful, or ect...... Its because they are kind and humble person, im become a fan of TWICE because of DAHYUN when i saw way back april 2018 in running man variety show... because her funny, bubly personality, and most of all her family relegious.. You see her air piece she devoted so much to GOD. Thats why she is my ultimate bias, but i love them all 9 members.
