- The parents of a boy who died after he was electrocuted by overhead power cables have launched a campaign film warning of the dangers of trespassing on the rail network.
The film tells the story of 11-year-old Harrison Ballantyne, who died in 2017 after he strayed into a rail freight depot to retrieve a lost football.
Despite not touching the power cables, Harrison died at the scene after he was hit by 25,000 volts of electricity which had formed an arc.

I think the rail companies should have done videos like this a few years ago to warn about the dangers of people sticking their heads out of train windows, a good few people have been injured or killed doing this and yet nobody has made a serious warning video about it and so many people used to do it, kids teens and adults alike. probably still do where those trains with openable windows are still in operation.
Hope every school will show and talk of this.
My mate Patrick Davies is the actor that plays harrison. Our school showed us the video to the whole school.
I had a talk about it at my school today
My school did it on thursday
I had it today 😢@@No.1HungerGamesFan
I watched this at school and I hope hope his family are well ❤
We need a parental upbringing film too
that was very shocking...
Everything is done... but only after someone DIES😢
Do you need to be told not to drink straight from the kettle after it boils? Or to not put your hand on the stove?
@@lukerogers6133Ur right. The people who made it shouldn't be responsible for the publics stupidity
We learned about this in school and thanks for telling me to be careful on tracks my brother died on tracks to.
25,000 volts from overhead railway power supply takes no prisoners I’m afraid. Safe distance 6 foot.
I mean it common knowledge I knew as a child not to go any where near railway tracks never mind overhead lines and third rail RIP
This was so sad😢
How did they get his voice if he was dead?
Be careful next time bro that train could have hit you
Life isn't a dress rehearsal
You're here once
And then you're gone
Forever
It’s so true tho 😢
Um this just scares you. It doesnt even give you any advice🤦🏽♂️🤷🏽♂️
Did we watch the same video?
It advisees you against going into a railway depot where there are high voltage wires that risk killing you if you get too close. I’d say that’s pretty solid advice.
