Thanks for your content & good that you met Sonia & she took you around although she seemed not to know the CBD very well. It’s better to walk on Cairo Road island in order to see the main CBD well. The place where the buses were is the area which was the mother of all street vending. We look forward to seeing that place looking much better once the vendors get into the new built market in the next two weeks

The Zambian young lady that you were with as your tour guide, seemed not to be conversant with some places and realities in Zambia. The round structure that you were pointing at and resembles those in South Africa was a cooling tower for thermal power station that used to supply power to the city of Lusaka in the colonial times up to 1974 when it was shutdown when Zambia built and succesfully commissioned the Kafue Gorge Power station. Ever since 1974, it has never been operational. The city of Ndola on the Copperbelt has one of those cooling towers as well. Yes, the rate of unemployment is a bit high but people are getting jobs especially in Zambian government such as teachers, nurses, doctors, agriculturalists, soldiers, police, Airforce personnel, correctional service officers, various engineers, drivers etc. Most mines have been revamped and people are getting jobs in the mines as well. Local government through the councils are employing as well. The cost of living is relatively high but not out of control and the most expensive thing in Lusaka is accommodation. Therefore, school or education will never be useless as she purported in your video.

Thank you so muchMr Ken, this is paints to me a picture of how so many things are in Zambia. Why are the towers left especially at the city centre, is it for some historical significance or it serves some purpose there because I saw several of them.
