The Partybox Encore Essential is a great little box speaker that packs a very big punch in a very small package. And for most people, I think this speaker will have no problem delivering. But if you’re looking for something durable and portable to constantly take on the go with you… the encore will get the job done… but today we’re going to compare the Encore to the JBL Boombox 2, the Sony XG500 and the UE Hyperboom.

I have the EU hyper boom, the JBL Boombox2, and JBL PartyBox encore essential and lately I have found myself grabbing the encore essential and playing it in bass Boost deep with the eq up and it gets the job done 😉

It’s amazing to actually hear the change they’ve made to it over the years it sounds sooo much better. I always thought CZcamsrs that weren’t satisfied with it 2 years ago should try it out again since I think it doesn’t have the “boxiness” others used to claim anymore. The Hyperboom will always be my favorite.
@@Hippoman55 totally! a friend of mine took his on a road trip once and inside the car the bass echoed really nicely. i was so impressed with it. it's more refined than i thought it would be and didn't sound hollow at all
@@jamesthefirst_8147 I use it in my car too. Sounds way better and louder than my standard car speakers. It’s also nice to have Bluetooth since my cars on the older side and only has a radio and cassette.
The UE does everything it CAN do and it's tuned like someone cares. The others are tuned to be subwoofers, none of which actually have subs nor can reproduce in meaningful amount... bass. The UE also doesn't look like a disco.
Sound quality wise the ranking goes like this IMO : 1. PartyBox Encore, 2. Boombox 2, 3. Hyperboom, 4. XG500
I have used my Hyperboom for over a year and really enjoy it. The mid-bass is extremely powerful and does shake the walls (especially if you place it in a corner). I believe the deep bass is more potent on the boombox 2/partybox speakers, but I think the hyperboom is a good compromise as it does sound very good (and can connect with the OG UE speakers vs JBL which is a bit finicky with which generations are allowed to connect).

Boombox has some of the best deeps for me but the encores quality sounds best overall
@GYMCADDY Thoughts on the comparison between the JBL Partybox Essential and the JBL Partybox On The Go?!?! I like the features of the “On The Go” because I’m a guitar player and it has the option to plug in a guitar, and it also comes with a wireless microphone where the “Essential” doesn’t and you have to purchase separately. I realize that they sound very similar and have the same 6 hour battery. This will be mainly used outside. I’m leaning towards the “On The Go” model but I realize it’s been out for a year now. Any thoughts would be greatly appreciated! Thanks!
I recently bought a boombox 2 at around 270 dollars and while the bb3 is a better speaker, I was able to alter sound balancing via that jbl app.

Love that you keep including the SONY XG500--- I was able to get one for 200$ so value for money-- it's a great deal! For the price of 1 boombox 3-- you could effectively get 2 XG500s paired and have really powerful sound!
Compre el partybox 100 y era mi altavoz favorito, pero no es portátil y la duración de la batería es minima, no podia llevarlo de viaje ya que ocupaba mucho espacio y su sonido en lugares abierto no es tan bueno como lo es en lugares cerrados, terminaba llevando mis 2 MEGABOOM para todos lados y viendo tus reviews decidí cambiar mi partybox por el hyperboom e inclusive a un menor costo que el mio ahora mismo, y ahora lo emparejo con mis 2 MEGABOOM y el sonido es brutal!!!! Lleno cualquier espacio ya sea abierto o cerrado y la duración de la batería es muy superior, estoy plenamente feliz por esa elección 👌

I think they are. I reviewed the On The Go, and hated it. The encore on the other hand, is good.
@@GYMCADDY at least you can connect the encore to the other partybox speakers. I have a 310 and a On the Go. Can’t even connect it with an audio cable.

i think ue is better cause 360 sound but ill go with ee since its bass is strong
hyperboom is the best imo - has deep bass, gets loud, can connect to tv, can turn off and on from your phone (do not have to physically push a button to turn on), great battery life. Only thing I wish it had was the ability to make phone calls. The BB2 is also bad azz....that is my go to speaker, my daily.....has rich, deeeeep bass, and easy to move around. I also have the Party Box On The Go - that is the camping trip must have - karaoke and a light show over the campfire....what more can you ask for! (okay well for the party box on the go, u could ask for more battery cause it only last apprx 2 maybe 3 hrs)

Wait, the boombox 3 is going to be a big upgrade i think. It’s going to have an additional passive radiator packed between the main woofers.

ventaja no pierde bajo a full volumen y se caracteriza por tener potencia nominal final algo que caracteriza a la marca UE
•si quieres bajo profundo y potente
SONY XG500 desventaja un parlante muy pesado

imo the hyperboom is the worst speaker here. its all upper bass. so it has a lot of punch to it but it does not go deep at all. i used to own one and a bb2 and the bb2 plays laughably deeper in bass. hyperboom has nothing below 55hz where as the bb2 easily hits 40hz and the encore plays even deeper then the bb2. for the size of the hyperboom it should of been able to play deep bass but just just does not.
Right on point its all upper bass punch on the Hyperboom and no deep rumble at all!

Why would you not put Essential in the video title? And why keep referring to the Essential as the Encore? Call it Encore Essential if you're going to do that. Why keep omitting the Essential name when Essential is what you're showing? If you were showing the actual Encore speaker (which I would rather see/hear), then I would understand, but you're not. It drives me nuts when people make videos like this. It's important because your criticisms of the Essential are being directed towards the Encore and can be confusing to consumers. Not good.
