Everyone should take it very seriously and assess the situation.

I have no idea if you’ll ever read this or not but here goes nothing. First of all Thanks a lot for the video, you just made me realise that life of an international student in foreign is no bed of roses, it’s hours of sweat and effort which requires dedication and I should prepare myself accordingly.
2nd, you mentioned having a USP as a student and I totally agree on it. I still have few month left and I think it’s time I look towards working on my skills
Thank You & keep uploading informative, motivating videos that give us a reality check

I have worked various jobs in many companies, but I have realized a fact that their is no growth opportunity and the internal company politics is gut renching. I have been living pay check to pay check this year in 2023. Finally bought a second hand car. Its not worth coming here now guys. I am stuck in a circle, you don't have too.

Trades means skilled trades: electrician, plumber, mechanic, painter, welder, mason, carpenter, lathe operator, etc. All these are ( skilled) trades. Most of them require a ( local) license to work, but once you have it , the salary is very good. And canada ( and US) is very much in shortage of these people.
During covid such people did not have any work and moved away to other careers, so now there is shortage of licensed people in such work.
Strictly speaking these jobs are considered as technician jobs ( which is a step lower than a engineer job in a company hierarchy ) but these are in shortage so the demand is high of such licensed technicians.

I absolutely agree with you, Mr Patel. You need skills, and labor jobs are finished. We have a self checkout kiosk, floor cleaning robots. You need licensed for Plumbing and electrical repairs. Remember this only the brilliant and intelligent candidates get jobs in Canada. Country will sponsor student visa and they are not obligated to seek employment for you. Don't have the impression that the Govt will provide employment.

I am very worried about you. Do you have a lot of money saved up? You can't survive in Vancouver off part time work, it's literally the worst place to live in Canada for expenses. Average rent for a 1 bedroom suite is 3000 CAD a month, you might get a single bedroom in a shared for 900 but they are horrible and designed to take advantage of you because you are new to the country. I would tell you to make sure to arrange housing before you get here but that isn't safe either, so many scammers looking to take your money. I'm serious, if you can get work anywhere else, do it.
