"Why does it look like my parents fighting?" Alice's parents being a pair of trains explains so much...
Which gives a whole new layer of meaning to the "train good, car bad" mantra.
The straiht logic agrees:
(1) train = good
(2) alice = train
ergo: alice = good.
Which is true.

I like to imagine what actionable threats Liam's making when he's getting bleeped out, and the longer the bleep lasts, the more creative I can get.
I do the same, but also I have faith that, when a live show finally happens, the real thing will be even better.
There should be an animated Well There's Your Problem spin-off where the cast travels around in a van and solve moth-man related mysteries.
WTYP the amimated series - The team driving around in Liams van("Misery Machine") recording podcasts live on location using a poorly explained time machine sub-plot.
The van needs to be Liam's old van just barely rebuilt into being "somewhat road worthy" also I feel like there hasnt been enough mothman lately.

52:40 Regarding the $2 round trip tickets: You've also got to factor in that Texas is big. Like, *really* big. Like, if someone out in, say, El Paso in the far west on the New Mexico border, or in Galveston down on the Gulf Coast, wanted to attend this event, that's easily a full day's journey one way; it'd be about half a day even today by car. So just $2 for what amounted to a 2-day train journey *and* you get to see this spectacular event and basically a mini state fair on top of that? That's a hell of a good deal! It would be roughly the equivalent of paying $60 for a round trip bus fare and free admission to the Indianapolis 500 from as far away as Denver, Colorado.
52:49 "They did build a town." "This was back when railroads could just do that.": As far back as the 1870's you could order basically all of the buildings you'd need for a frontier town from the Sears Roebuck catalog, and they would deliver your whole town to you anywhere in the country by train in prefabricated wood panels and assemble it free of charge.
1:00:27 "Me und my Fraulin!": Just wanna point out that Texas German is actually a recognized dialect of German and that was remarkably close to it. Good show, Roz.
1:04:42 "Big plate of spaghetti.": Eh, in this case less spaghetti and more two big steel balloons popping. As mentioned before, boiler explosions are fun; you know it's not gonna be good, but you never know exactly how it's going to kill you. Is the boiler just gonna vomit its insides out? Is it gonna launch itself like a rocket? Is it gonna launch itself straight up and land on the train car behind it? Is it gonna just go *POP* and tear itself to shreds?
1:09:28 Pretty sure this image is from a different staged train crash. You can pretty clearly see the end platforms of what are obviously passenger coaches, not the boxcars used at Crush.

Wow, I had such a moment of deja vu thinking WTYP already did an episode on Crash at Crush, before realizing it was the Fascinating Horror episode I remembered. 😅
Great episode, but Justin did the classic collision velocity error with what speed the trains hit each other. If both trains have a speed of 45mph, in opposite directions, then assuming they have roughly equivalent mass, they each experienced a collision decelerating from 45mph to 0mph, not 90mph to 0 mph. Their speeds relative to each other were 90mph (in opposite directions) but that doesn't mean they each experienced an equivalent collision of hitting an immovable wall at 90mph. if they had, they each train would have bounced backwards at 45mph. Granted, I'm not talking about the ejection of train viscera from the boilers exploding.
When we get to Safety Third and a picture of an Osprey appears on the screen, you know this shit is going to be real good XD
You know, I genuinely like it when Rocz waxes lyrical about history. Which I know is every epsiode, but I just wanna take a moment to appreciate that. I think in another life he'd make a great history professor or even tour guide. Alice referencing Robot Wars was something I wasn't prepared for, but highly increased my already-high respect for her.
Honestly, the Crush guy took way more precautions than I thought he would. Tried to have the crowds at a, presumed, safe distance. Actually consulted engineers who worked with those trains to make sure there wouldn’t be a boiler explosion. (Well, there was at least an attempt at listening to the experts.)

I work in railway PR and, a couple of years ago at an industry event, we were invited to pitch "wild" ideas for how to drum up interest in the railways. I brought this up, and everyone had a good chuckle at the idea of smashing together some old Pacers, except for the representative from the Department for Transportation, who quietly said "actually the secretary of state genuinely *did* want to blow up a Pacer as a PR stunt..." So really nothing ever changes!
I mean WTYP has never not been good fun, but this one genuinely is perfect. Keep at it, girl and boys!
As a TN resident I find it hilarious that I watched all those people flip out and panic buy gasoline but no ones heard of “the crack” before I mention it. That bridge is a far larger problem for our state than the pipeline. I40 traffic is vitally important to the economy of the state and shipping on the river is vital to not only our state but the nation. Part of the issue may be the reporting of it as a “crack” which sounds far less severe than reality. Plus they’re diverting traffic to the much older, smaller bridge upriver, which of course doesn’t sound like it could possibly lead to issues🙄
