Man most everything comes from Mr RPM cycle @mrrpmcycle.com, but like gasket sets, you can get a complete gasket set off eBay for around $150, cheaper than Mr RPM. Make sure the ad says “complete” though.
I’ve built eleven Can-Am motors now, nine of which were not stock once I finished, all of them had the same plastic internal gears. Never seen any with damage, I presume they are made out of some harden plastic. The biggest thing that would cause damage is if the cam chain were stretched to the point cam chain tensioners didn’t serve their purpose anymore, then the chain jumps off the cam gear or crank, then I could see those gears getting shredded. Hope that helps….
Hello.. Getting the low oil pressure light on “only when at idle” and when the engine is warm after like a 10 min ride.. it goes off when i slightly press the gas.. changed oil and filter but still the same.. checked the oil pressure to be 3 psi at idle and around 35 to 40 psi when i press the throttle…any clues?
Just curious, what kind of mileage or hours on the motor? Has the motor ever been sunk? There’s many oil passages in the engine case that can get clogged with debris, along with there’s a oil screen inside the engine case, right above the drain plug, that also can get clogged with debris and cause your oil pressure issues. Debris can be just from normal wear from internal engine parts, that’s why I ask about the hours/mileage? There’s also an oil pressure sensor, it could possible be dirty or bad, causing the false readings? Hopefully some of that helps….
@@mudhawgmafia3896 Milage is around 10,000 km and never been sunk.. i have tried a new oil sensor but still the same issue.. whats the best engine internal cleaning process without splitting it?
@@mishaalsalha6494 brother, I’m not aware of any cleaning method. If that internal oil filter screen is dirty or clogged, that could definitely be the cause of you oil pressure issue. I recently had to tear down the motor I just built because I’d sunk it, and when I split the case and checked that screen, I literally had lint on it from the rags I used when cleaning the inside of the engine case, when I originally built the motor, blew my mind. Evidently all the engine oil circulates through that screen! If you ever drain your oil, lay under your bike and with a flash light like look through the drain hole and you should be able to see it!
Man, honestly no, I originally tried heating the case up around the sleeve with a torch and knocking them out, kinda like doing a wheel bearing. Won’t work, plus you risk damaging the case.
@@mrkasual6776 ya, that’s how I come about buying a press, for those bearing sleeves. But it’ll come in handy for wheel bearings, etc Good luck on your build!
We're gonna need some Mud Hawg Mafia sticker!!!
Thank You Sir
How stiff was your crank to turn after pressing in the new main bearings
Yes we are

Where do you get your rebuild kit for the motor?

How reliable are these engines? Plastic gears? :(

Is there any other way to remove these without a press? Maybe a Rental tool?

@@mudhawgmafia3896 ok thanks I'll try to find a machine shop near me. Looking forward to the finished rebuild!
