IPA is the style that needs no introduction, but today we're introducing one with all the tropical flavors from a healthy charge of centennial, citra, and galaxy hops! Let's talk about how it went.

Love a good tropical IPA with a bit of bitterness kick. Cheers and stay warm bud.
Now that's a recipe! IPAs are my favorite to make because they turn out well enough, even if something goes wrong. Great video as always!
Absolutely, the beauty of hops!
Looks tasty! I always look forward to what your dog has to comment :-).
She’s my favorite critic!
Looks awesome! I bought a 6.5 Foundry in part because of your videos. Keep em coming! 🍻🍻
Excellent decision, I love mine! Cheers 🍻
Ah, the season of tropical hoppy beers is almost upon us. Cannot wait to give this one a try! Cheers
We should make our own groundhogs day tradition, make a beer in February and if it comes out hazy, summer beers come early 🍻
Hahaha, this is genius, @@5minutebrewery I think you are onto something!
Looks like a solid beer!!! Cheers 🍻
Indeed! Cheers 🍻
Another great video! I have an anvil 6.5 and shoot for 3 gal into the fermenter. I start with 3.2 gal for the mash I do sparge with 1 gal. Question, how large of a batch have you done in the 6.5? And what was the batch size of this current IPA? Keep up the great videos!!!!
Thank you! Most of my batches (like this one) are 4.8 gallons to start, after mash and boil it’s about 3.5 gallons into the fermenter.
I’ve pushed the anvil 6.5 to make a 5 gallon batch, but it was through a concentrated mash and adding water in the boil. It was pushing 6 gallons during the boil so very full!
Pfriem is a great brewery. We always try to go there when we visit Hood River. Sounds like a good recipe.
They are! One of my favorites!
Sweet tea often has lemon juice in it too.
This is a the quality feedback I’m looking for, great to know you’re reading the fine print 🫡
I'm a homebrewing lawyer (though my brewery is actually in the basement of my office). Fine print in brewing videos is an intersection of my interests.
Im still pretty new to brewing but want to give this a try, how much would adjust the grain bill to reduce the maltiness?
I would probably back off the Crystal/Caramel additions slightly, maybe down to 1% instead of 2%!
Maybe not even enough to make a perceptible difference, but I guess only one way to find out!
Why did you not use pressure fermentation? Also, any reason why no whirlpool hops?
No reason in particular, but I was planning on using my pressure fermentation tank for another batch and let this one roll in my conical.
I had some “friend of a friend told me” information that the beer that this one is based off of only uses late boil addition hops and dry hop, so that’s what I went with. But I can imagine it would be just as tasty with a whirlpool!
