    It's been 3 yrs since this was posted. Have you figured out that the barrel is not fully seated? If not, EDM or Vigilance has a video of one of these showing how the barrel was not seated fully. You need to push the button and screw the barrel nut all the way in. Just got mine a few days ago so been catching up on the videos.

    Man it looks like half the people in the comments haven't even done basic research on the m200in fact they almost certainly had to have either not pay attention or scroll past forgotten weapon's video on this

      *Minor correction I meant to say "it" at the end referring to the forgotten weapons video on m2000.
      Oh and I missed a space between m200 and in

      No hard feelings there!

    One reason for the rough chamber and stiff recoil may be because the weapon was not properly prepped and lubricated. Even in Vietnam where rust and mud constantly interfered with operation of the M-16 and it's attachment the M-203, extra time to oil the weapon down helped prolong the longevity and general operation of the rifle. By contrast, their enemy's rifle, the infamous AK-47, did not have those problems, as it was made from a much heavier stock of steel, and no plastic.
    A closer examination and basic prep of the weapon prior to this exhibition may have prevented the first shooter's injuries, and possibly made clicking the stock into place a bit easier as well. My like is for the weapon, but not so much for the crew. It's quite obvious you guys have no serious military background.

      @PeaceLoveAndGuns  Před 4 lety +6

      Weapons should definitely be properly maintained and all that jazz, but lack of lubricant in the chamber doesn’t cause deep gouges into the shell casings, so something definitely caused the chamber to be roughened by the prior owner - which was why it was in for service.
      As stated and acknowledged in the video, the stock collapsing was definitely user error. I didn’t realize a “serious military background,” was required to enjoy, operate, or have an opinion on firearms, though. Last I checked, the second amendment says it is the “right of the PEOPLE to keep and bear arms.”
      Anyway, William Briddon of Gray Fox Gunsmithing in WA, who isn’t afraid of showing his error on the internet as a learning opportunity, is a Marine by the way.

      judging by the fact alone that you think oiling a bolt action rifle will decrease recoil means you should probably be quiet.
      Oiling a chamber wont make it smoothh all of a sudden, if its a rough chamber wihth bad dimensions, its a rough chamber with bad dimensions, no amount of oil will change the steel.
      And please, stop talking out your ass about vietnam era problems that you read about in a vague forum post.

      @@blainesphone no. The windrunner line of rifles was always built by billy ritchie from edm arms. Only after the lawsuit between edm arms and cheytac settled, he made a deal with thor defense group to grant them the further productiok of the windrunner m96 in .50bmg and both the classic windrunner as the thorxm408 and the m200 version of it as the thor m408. Cheytac might have fabricsted the parts themselves but the action is and will always be an edm arms m96 windrunner. Why do you think there was a lawsuit to begin with

    • @mikestowe3
      @mikestowe3 Před 4 lety +2

      EDM built the original rifles, before the lawsuit in 2000. Then they were both granted rights to the design. Cheytac continued with the M200, and EDM continued with the M96 am the Thor xm408. Now that Ritchie has passed away his son partnered with vigilance to work on the guns.
