...A TORNADO WARNING REMAINS IN EFFECT UNTIL 515 PM CST FOR
SOUTHWESTERN POLK...NORTHEASTERN MADISON...SOUTHEASTERN DALLAS AND
NORTHERN WARREN COUNTIES...
At 439 PM CST, a confirmed large and extremely dangerous tornado was
located over Winterset, moving northeast at 50 mph.
This is a PARTICULARLY DANGEROUS SITUATION. TAKE COVER NOW!
HAZARD...Damaging tornado.
SOURCE...Radar confirmed tornado.
IMPACT...You are in a life-threatening situation. Flying debris may
be deadly to those caught without shelter. Mobile homes
will be destroyed. Considerable damage to homes,
businesses, and vehicles is likely and complete destruction
is possible.
Locations impacted include...
Des Moines, West Des Moines, Indianola, Norwalk, Pleasant Hill,
Winterset, Windsor Heights, Carlisle, Saylorville, Southridge Mall,
Iowa State Fairgrounds, Principal Park, Des Moines Int'l Airport,
Drake Stadium And Knapp Center, Iowa Events Center, Hartford,
Martensdale, Cumming, Patterson and Bevington.
PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...
To repeat, a large, extremely dangerous and potentially deadly
tornado is on the ground. To protect your life, TAKE COVER NOW! Move
to a basement or an interior room on the lowest floor of a sturdy
building. Avoid windows. If you are outdoors, in a mobile home, or in
a vehicle, move to the closest substantial shelter and protect
yourself from flying debris.

im gonna be honest with you i live 13 miles away from winterset and i got footage of the tornado near winterset
I was tracking these terrible storms! On my new Windows 11
I slept through this somehow and I'm in the area

@@EpicGelatin As far as my knowledge about tornadoes go, there are considerable factors taken place for a tornado to form and increase intensity. This includes wind, humidity, storm development and duration, climate tho im not so sure about that and the geographic location. Plains are most likely to have more destructive tornadoes than places with higher and more bumpy terrain. But im no weather expert so take my word with a grain of salt.
