My daughter and I are walking the wall in September and we had the same problem in the centre section ie we cant find accommodation. So, we've booked 2 nights in Chollerford and what we're going to do is finish up at Hallsteads, duck down to the B6318 and catch the bus to Chollerford (20 minutes) for the night. Then the next morning, get the bus from Chollerford back to Hallsteads and carry on the walk back to Chollerford for our second night at the AirBnB. That splits a pretty arduous 1 day walk into 2 easier ones and gives you more flexibility finding accommodation. PLUS on the second day we can leave most of our stuff at the AirBnB and not have to carry it.

For dummies like me I wish there was more talk about the history, the significance, etc of the wall and the walk.

Originally I did plan to put quite a lot in, unfortunately the adventure is one and a half hours long without it and as a fitness and adventure channel I left the history out to show the adventure aspect. Thanks for watching tho, hope you enjoyed the video 👍🏻

Hello, I've come across your videos while researching the route. We're planning to hiking and camping the route, could I ask what kit you'd recommend please? Struggling to find much info on what kit to take.

I did this walk last year (Aug 21 - actually 1 yr ago exactly we started) with a company (HF) who set up hotels, do luggage transfers and provide a guide. A great walk. Our first day was from the start and back to Carlisle were we had stayed overnight - then 15 miles then next day and on to another hotel (the watch tower ruin at 23:16 was where we stopped on the 2nd day and got picked up by bus and taken on to our next hotel) - Difficult to see any evidence of the wall for the best part of 30 miles (if you have the time b4 you start, call in to Tullie House museum in Carlisle to get you set up) but there is evidence of the vicus (the ditch that ran parallel to the wall but it helps to have someone to point it out).

We stayed in Carlisle the night before we started the walk and we got at taxi to the start. Can’t remember what the hotel was called but it was actually built on top of the original section of the wall in Carlisle

@@TurningBacktheClock sounds like it might be the Cumbria Park Hotel (they found sections of the wall/roman fort in the car park). If so, same hotel HF uses for the pre-walk and first nights of the walk. I only had to come up from Whitehaven so only an hour on the train. Even better to the C2C start, only 6 minutes by train.

What's the name of the place you are starting off at? You never stated the beginning place name.

Hi John, we started at Bowness on Solway. It is mentioned in Part 2. I normally film a few different intros, unfortunately the one I used didn’t mention the name.
Thanks for watching, hope you enjoy the video. Happy to answer any other questions
