Before the party makes a final decision to let you stand they will look into your background too. Now, if Hope Not Hate can find dirt then Reform should be able to find it too, indicating that they either didnt bother looking or are too incompetent to find anything.
As to behaving to an expected standard, that can only apply to actions after you have been approved to stand, and not applied to actions a decade or so ago. This is where the party should have done the background work on the candidate before accepting them.

I’ll say up front that I am a Reform supporter and I will be voting for them because I believe they are the only choice, and that choosing not to vote is a vote for Labour.
As for the Hate not Hope connection, I don’t believe that HNH have any control over Reform other than being relentless in their efforts to dig up dirt on Reform candidates….. a pastime they’re so relentless in because of their hatred of Reform…. I’m sure if they were as driven with the desire to dig into the backgrounds of the parliamentary candidates of other political persuasions, that they’d find more than just the odd skeleton there too….. we all have a past. But has Tice been too quick off the mark to expel those apparently exposed by HNH???? Maybe, but without seeing the evidence, I couldn’t possibly comment, but I do understand why Tice wants candidates, with the least amount of potential controversy in their personal history.
As for the likability of Richard Tice himself???? Well, to me he seems very much like a salesman more than a statesman, which is not a quality I particularly care for. But I am grateful for his efforts with Reform and for his leadership to get the Party to where it is today……. Would it be here today without him? Do I trust him to be PM??? Honestly, I trust him a thousand percent more than any other potential leader out there today because he represents my views and unlike the other leaders, he doesn’t have a history of saying one thing to get elected and doing another, he doesn’t regurgitate word salad to obfuscate the truth, if asked a question, he’ll answer it honestly unlike other politicians who tend to answer the questions they wish they’d been asked, rather than the actual question that had been asked.
