    Can you please give an example of a day and night routine combining the most well known products recommended by dermatologists? It gets confusing at some point.
    I'm 35, I have normaI to dry skin that tolerates most everything I use with not many problems since I started to take care of my face when I was 30.
    I currently wash my face (without soap), put on Vitamin C, Hyaluronic Acid, Snail 96, Azelaic Acid, and of course Sunscreen every 2 hours.
    At night I double cleans, Tretinoin, Vichy 89, Niacinamide, Azelaic Acid, a Moisturizer, and Vaseline where it's needed.
    After so many years of slowly perfecting my routine, I'm still not fully sure if I'm doing it right, and how and where to incorporate Ceramide, colllagen Peptides, and Glycolic Acid. But I am sure there are a lot of people like me who are a bit confused with all these magic potions 😆 Please help us ❤

I know the most important thing is to have an effective skincare routine all year round, using the right actives every day. But sometimes the skin needs a little extra TLC for an important event, and lately I'm at a loss... And there's the relaxing aspect of it too, right? Any tips for us? Thank you!

    That's funny because I thought you were using peptides, backuchiol and retinal D from Aveene for anti-aging. Is it new that you are using tretinoin ? Because I never really heard of you using it. It's interesting. Could you tell why you've switched for tretinoin if it is something recent, please? Like is it because you wanted to try something stronger? I'm curious 😉

      I think it's that she's providing information for those of us who do use tretinoin. It doesn't necessarily mean that she's using it. For example, a physician can give instruction about the treatment of diabetes but he doesn't have to have diabetes to do that.

      With products that have actives, you risk the products not being as effective especially if it's been opened.

    • @sable7114
      @sable7114 Před 2 měsíci +1

      I just asked my doctor about this because the pharmacy gives you prescriptions that expire in less than a year of purchase which makes it almost impossible to use up. I have so much left in a tube that expired in February. If you research this it says you should be able to use it 2 years from the manufacturing date however you can't find the manufacturing date on the box or the tube. The pharmacist hinted that legally he could not tell me that I should use beyond the expiration date but did say to look at whether or not the cream discolors or if it's separates then not use it if that's happening . I took it to my doctor, not a dermatologist, on Tuesday and he said I just continue using it when I asked him if I should apply it someplace else on my body and hope that it might help with hyperpigmentation because I didn't want to waste money and I don't normally have such a large tube so I'm going to use it and just monitor if it changes. Keep the cap on and keep it in a place that's of the right temperature. He asked me to just see what happens and I'm thinking how am I going to know what happens. I'll probably not react because I didn't Purge but yet at the same time I won't know if it's beneficial.

    • @lukastemberger
      @lukastemberger Před 2 měsíci +2

      Most drugs and actives have a way longer life than the best before date. Worst thing that could happen is the effectiveness can be reduced. So a 0.05% would be as effective as 0.04%.

    I never see Dr. Maren wash her neck. She needs to remove the day’s sunscreen and sweat at the end of the day. Also not showing that she applies anything to her neck. Skin below the jawline needs consistent care too.

      I never see you shut it but I’m sure you know how to keep ignorant comments to yourself. I’m pretty sure someone who managed to successfully practice as a dermatologist knows how to care for their skin. Or maybe she should just take the camera in the shower with her. Not everyone can tolerate all that on the neck fyi

    • @J-ellO

      What’s the reason for not showing the washing of her neck and applying product there, it’s because it’s not a very attractive thing to do on video. I’m sure she assumes we all know that.

    I have no clue how anyone can suggest the LRP double repair moisturizer - it constantly flakes/peels for me, almost instantly after application. Is it because I'm in a dry environment or something? Utterly bizarre. The sad part is it does feel really great going onto the skin. I can tell the ingredients are likely high quality, too, so it's even more baffling to me. The one with SPF in it is great, too, but stings my eyes mercilessly. Lol.

      @@lalablotz7348 I love their hydrating gentle cleanser. Also the Cicaplast baume is definitely cult status for a good reason. The effaclar spot treatment and the salycilic acid face wash are pretty decent, too. The spot treatment I swear by, but I'm not 100% sold on the SA wash (yet). Also can't complain about the Lipikar AP+M Triple Repair Body Moisturizer For Dry Skin, awesome ingredients. It is strange how some of their products are affordable and then others are absurd, lol. Their sunscreens are definitely total miss for me. Korean all the way.

  • @lukastemberger
    @lukastemberger Před 2 měsíci +2

    I can't take seriously anyone who recommends the sandwich technique. Almost all mousturizers have occlusives which will stop Tretinoin from being effective. And even if not, you're basically reducing the percentage by mixing it with another product.
    Purging and irritation is a normal step when using it. Let the skin freak out for a month or two, make sure to keep it heavily moisturized and protected from the sun. And once you get used to it, you'll be thankful you went through it.

    • @mjdy1126
      @mjdy1126 Před 2 měsíci +1

      For someone like me who tried putting moisturizer first before tretinoin for 2 months and then switch to tretinoin first before moisturizer, i can attest to this.

    • @texasdavid9764
      @texasdavid9764 Před 2 měsíci

      You may be right regarding effective percentage delivered but if sandwiching makes the initiation phase more tolerable people are more likely to stick with the therapy and make it part of their routine. Its effect occurs more with continued use than any set percentage absorption, so methods to increase compliance would be the greatest benefit. Also, I don’t think I would dismiss the advice of multiple dermatologists’ recommendations for those of a layperson.

    • @lukastemberger
      @lukastemberger Před 2 měsíci

      @@texasdavid9764 Sure, if you do this in the first month, that's fine. But people use the sandwich method consistently and are disappointed because it doesn't work. It will work if it's applied the way it says in the instructions, not the way CZcamsrs recommend.
