“Don’t swim alone” is normal. I grew up hearing that since even if you’re a strong swimmer, if something happens (Medical issues that may cause you to lose consciousness, fatigue, etc) you definitely don’t want to be alone in the water

I actually avoid pools since I gained my epilepsy in my mid-20s, but before that, I remember hitting your head on the side of the pool doing a backstroke is way easier to do than most people think.
Yep… I would memorise the ceiling pipes so I knew when I got close, and then I’d stick a hand out for the last meter or so to avoid that

When I was younger, my foster mother used to read to me a book on how a lady used to live in pools and on the drain, but sometimes she would surface only for a bit. So if you saw her and blinked she went away. That’s was the whole story but for some reason I loved it the most and asked her to read it to every night. I’m still looking for the book now that I’m in my forever home and far away from her.

💦 I hate drains in pools and stuff mostly because I think they're disgusting. When I was a kid, I used to have someone take out the cleaner out of the pool, and if they didn't, I wouldn't get in the pool because I thought they were absolutely disgusting.😂
I’ve always had a fear of this happening and I watched this one gravity falls episode where Mabel ment the merman and there was a kid living in a pool drain. That freaked me out cuz I was only 7, but this is just flat out sad. I think my fear is now unlocked again lol! Luv you Jess!❤️
