Recology Auburn Placer: CCC Heil 4000

- After over a year since I last attempted to film this truck on this same route back in August 2015, we found it. This tiny truck collects carts and manual bins along the super narrow streets and back roads in Loomis, California. This truck has a spread out route of a small collection of long streets clumped together on the north side of the route. The remaining streets and alleys (even the off-road type stops) are collected by automated trucks (last time it was a newer Python).
If you notice in this videos the roads progressively get more and more narrow and poorly maintained. This truck finished out the route in an extremely tight one lane road (that literally has no name on the map) that makes it hard to follow. This is why some of the later clips are shot from a distance.

What a nice little machine! A CCC paired with a Heil definitely screams NorCal Waste...that and the huge red stripe down the body. The tipper had a nice speed and it was cool seeing it on manual stops as well. One for the favorites!
You got that right! Thanks for watching and commenting!
I used to drive a little 13 yard Heil 4000 in Kansas City Kansas for a company that got bought out by WM. It was a nimble little truck and KCK has some terrible roads to drive on.
+John Sidwell Wow. What chassis was it on?
Nice 👍
+Garbage Kid Thanks! Glad you enjoyed the video.
Yep you film Labrie next week?
+Garbage Kid Not sure. Maybe.
Maybe I can go with you
This would be so cool to work for. Recology is a great company but to work up there in aurburn, grassvally, Colfax, medowvista, I'd love to work there.
Oh yeah. Recology Auburn Placer is a great yard to work out of.
Wow I was so amazed to see how fast the driver and truck are! Excellent pair in my opinion lol. Cool to see that they have a CCC. I just love how the packer on this truck just shoots down and rockets back up lol. I wish that he didn't mix streams though but at least its sorted out at the dump. Nice job man!
+Kanyisa Ahegbebu Yeah, they have the one big bin system here, so it all goes to a dirty MRF to be sorted. Thanks for watching, glad you enjoyed the video!
Didn't know YOU attempted to film this truck last year. So cool YOU found it. I think we both found it. Including out taxi driver. Loved your point of view. Definitely one of our cool finds.
+KennysTrucks Yes. We did both find it! Good job Kenny! Thanks for watching.
I was there too.....
+NorCal Waste Trucks Yes you were! A+
Cool little truck and route to go with it. Definitely reminds me of chasing my aunt's old F4000 through rural Sequim, similar tipper and mixture of semi-auto Toters and manual stops. Wouldn't take a CCC or a F4000 as my first guess for a Recology truck, let alone the combination. I feel like I saw some blue bags of recycling too both in carts and that one outside of a can. I take it residents can get blue bags for just recycling to aid sorting/keeping recycling clean/make them feel better about mixing everything? Awesome video, can't tell you how much I enjoy rural routes like this over city/hoa routes
+Garbage Trucks AZ Rural routes have always been something I have been eyeing for a while now. The logistics of it have really been the only things stopping that, but recently I was able to shift some things and spend more time looking to figure out some of these routes. They tend to be very spread out and all over, so finding one with a truck and driver like this was a real treat. Not sure about the blue bags. Not sure if Recology has those to provide or if residents just by them to keep there recycling from getting completely mixed since Placer county uses the one big bin system with a "dirty" MRF. Glad you enjoyed the video and thanks for the comment.
California Refuse Trucks the blue bag system is for residents to separate recycle and keep it clean, but is not mandatory to use. But if I remember correct, only the cart of waste is taken and recycle in blue bags on the side. Also, a dirty mrf is an old term from the 70's - 90's that was a facility that aided in the production of rdf. There was very little recovery of recyclables. The term now used these days is "mixed waste processing facility". The mwpf is a facility that is technologically advanced for the purpose to recover valuable recyclable commodities, including organic. They have a high rate of recovery and don't really produce rdf (but they can).
Nice! I hope you can get more footage of this truck!
+rep5214 Hopefully! Thanks for watching!
Such a cool little truck! Nice work
+Simco Barker TrashTrucks Thank you! The driver really made this truck shine. Hats off to him as well.
Sweet vid! The truck sure preforms well!
+Trash Trackers It sure does! Works great for the small streets and unpaved roads.
If it were me I'd prefer it be RHD only.
badass!
+ThaThunderStorm Thanks!
Does Auburn not recycle or have a yard waste program like Elk Grove and Sacramento?
Nathan Johnson it's all sorted at a mixed waste processing facility owned by the county.
Milldogg73 Hm... Interesting. Thanks for the info!
a little upsetting to see him mixing compost and trash but whatever it's a neat truck. Too bad they can't fit a better tipper in there.
trashmonster26 in placer county everything gets MRF'd at a mixed waste processing facility. They will use the trommel, shakers, and manual sorting to sort as much organics as possible for composting, as well as all the equipment to recover recyclable commodities. These are probably about the only customers who requested a compost cart on that route. Most customers on these rural routes just burn all yard waste in their burn piles.
Glad to here its sorted. Still a little disheartening to see though.
Brian Spencer in the city of auburn and other placer cities, residents have compost carts as well as mixed waste carts. It's just in the rural county areas that it's probably optional for a small fee.
Actually those two green toters weren't green waste.. Those people are friends of the program and they get special treatment, don't know why.. If you notice I had trouble grabbing the 1st toter. It was straight dirt with a lil trash at bottom. The other is usually half trash half saw dust. They're a peach to deal with...
Lol I bet! Good luck with them. Haha I'm not a swamper but i could imagine the feeling :)
