The battle tracks on the OST transition to the post battle results themes instead of separating them, which is why it cuts to it a bit abruptly at the end.
I may upload the entire OST later if nobody else does, since the entire thing is amazing.

I didn’t even know this game was also an actual game beyond a visual novel, and it was a pretty fun part of the game too. Can’t wait to finish it after my semester ends
I've always wanted to check out more sci-fi and this game really helped me with that, such a great experience
One of the most memorable games I played this year. So damn good.
Fun fact: the composer for this track in particular went on to do work for the Elden Ring OST! (In particular, God Devouring Serpent is a standout track that definitely pulls a lot from this style.)
And the Lichdragon's theme as well. I found this song because of their music in Elden Ring and I wanted to hear more of their work. =DDD

Man, the plot twists in this game are just fucking crazy... Best storyline I've seen in a videogame in a long while.
It just slaps you with "Everything you know is wrong!" every 5 hours and you never get tired of it
Depends on which storyline you take first... I got Juro early and I understand almost everything about the finale.

That is most definitely NOT the biggest twist lmao there's so much more to project ark than just being a simulation bro honestly the game could've just dropped the simulation part and it'd still be a strong story with plenty of twists and mystery
If someone tells you about the storyline, it will sound overly complicated. But this game comes with a system that lets you review every piece of information and event, at any time. You can pause whatever you are doing and instantly review anything that happened, fast-forwarding if necessary. It's this system that allows your mind to fully integrate every story element. It's the best way to experience a story, and it works really well with how complicated it is
Most of the complexity comes from the fact that none of the characters understand wtf is going on, not even the supposedly smart exposition characters. Once you get the full picture of what really happened in the past, it's surprisingly simple lol.

I'm not sure if anyone else felt it but this song has such a classic Sega sound and feel. Maybe its just me but it brought me brought me back to 90s gaming.

i just got to the final boss of the first area and this started playing, made the fight 100x better imo
The vocals at 1:36 is something else, it stood out to me immediately and is perhaps the most memorable soundtrack for me after completing the game last night.
A true masterpiece.
I already finish the wave 1-10 with this music included, first time in my life where a RTS game make feel concentrated and with a lot of courage to finish one battle.... wonderful music, I hope the next battle surprised me like this one and the story is superb. :D
I wish this game had its own section in a Nintendo Direct, but hopefully us fans are more than enough to make this game as popular as possible

Basiscape is fantastic at soundtracks and sound design.
This felt like PSO2, orchestral, and synth music you hear on everyday news programs blended into one.

"Bombed" is relative, Atlus said sales exceeded expectations. Mixing visual novel with RTS-style gameplay is risky, its two extremely niche genres, and then it's also hyper-focused on sci-fi tropes narratively so it is a very narrow set of potential buyers. I think they knew it from the start, set expectations humbly, and outdid themselves which is fine.

I just found out that the composer for this game is the same dude that composed for Valkyria Chronicles. It's no wonder this ost kept reminding me of that game.
You are correct in refering to Hitoshi Sakimoto [who also composed for Final Fantasy 12 as well] who composed for this game. However, this was actually composed by one of his teammates in his sound team from Sakimoto's personal sound company "Basicscape".
Yoshimi Kudo is the composer of this track in particular. He's worked on previous Vanillaware games alongside Hitoshi Sakimoto.
Kudo has recently worked on Elden Ring, producing some fantastic tracks from that game such as "God-Devouring Serpent" and "Lichdragon Fortissax".
Vanillaware has an amazing roster of talented musicians and they all deserve far more credit than they generally get.

I wholeheartedly agree. Its such a love letter to everything that makes up the sci-fi genre. Whether it is books, anime, games, movies, etc. theres so much here that I was blown away by the end of it. I didn't get every reference until I researched at the end of the game and theres still some references that ppl keep telling me about to this day its insane. The other shocking detail that I'm still baffled with is that the team is incredibly small (30 ppl about) for such an amazing game. And its written by George Kamitani, who I've come to respect as a genius in creating incredibly written games.

Amazing OST, as expected from Sakimoto. Possibly his best yet.
He only composed 10 tracks though. He directed the soundtrack as a whole, but the main composers are part of Basiscape, his sound and composition studio.
The best true Sakimoto OST remains Vagrant Story in my opinion!

Vanillaware makes amazing games
this game's story makes Cyberpunk 2077's story look like trash in comparison even though the themes are very similar. this is what actual creative storytelling is.
I haven't even played Cyberpunk, but in what way are they even close to being similar thematically? Is it just because there is technology in them both lol?
@@michaelwright646 can't really say much without spoilering either story, but there are some similar themes regarding human consciousness, which I guess is what he is talking about. I do agree with him that 13 Sentinel's approach is vastly superior, if only because they put basically every trope of sci-fi together and somehow made it work.
@@michaelwright646 I'm not defending cyber trash, but Imo, I find it to be wildly easier to make a more compelling story when your core gameplay is a turn based strategy. As opposed to a massive open world that you interact with constantly.

I’m really skeptical on buying this game. It looks really interesting, it shows Atlus published/worked/whatever they did on this game has me interested. This song is kick ass, art looks great, but the gameplay looks confusing as hell.
The gameplay is very simple actually. Most of the game you'll be spending your time going through the story with gameplay being secondary.

its such a banger of a song that its insane that it was only ever used like twice in the game from what I remember. And thats rlly my only complaint with the game is that it didn't give us more battles in Destruction. Maybe if there was like 2 more sections I would be satisfied. Its too short even though the entirety of Destruction took me like 6 hours to complete lol.

It's a visual novel (a damn good one) with some strategic fights. Take it for what it is.
