- Germany's Chancellor has promised to strengthen security at home and abroad in a speech to lawmakers. Chancellor Olaf Scholz said he wants to allow the deportation of asylum seekers involved in crime and terrorism. This follows the death of a police officer in a knife attack. Scholz also defended his decision to allow Ukraine to use German weapons to strike targets in Russia.

If you’re in a foreign country and misbehave seriously you should expect to be deported.
This applies to all countries. An American expat who commits a crime in Thailand should also be deported
@@BlueIvory4 *American immigrants
@@BlueIvory4 fully agreed.
@@Exxperiment626 it could be both. An expatriate and immigrant are different things. It’s not just a matter of different terms for poor vs. wealthy. But there are American immigrants in Thailand too.
Coming from a guy that has 25 % approval rating.
He should learn from Bukele

Can you believe what you just heard? That's the only scenario in which they would consider deportation. Basically they're saying that if they commit lesser crimes, they will be allowed to stay, despite being criminals!
Haven’t we heard this from the chancellor before?
Deportation should be LAW at european level.
All words, especialy before european election. No action to be expected.

Respectful Greetings!
To: German Nation.
German Chancellor Olaf Scholz on Thursday morning addressed the lower house of parliament, the Bundestag, in a statement on National Security.
The briefing touched on three main topics:
1.The recent stabbing death of a police officer by an asylum seeker;
2.The massive floods that hit southern Germany over the weekend;
3.And Germany's stance in the war in Ukraine.
Speaking of the massive floods that hit southern Germany over the weekend, Scholz offered his heartfelt sympathy to those affected as well as praise and thanks for all those involved in managing the extremely difficult situation.
The two events that occurred in Germany, the murder of a public order officer and the floods in southern Germany, are regrettable. It is appropriate and timely to extend my sympathies to the German people at this difficult time.
Best Regards!

Must be elections coming up! Cause if he can do it now but why not years ago!
Imagine as woman resorting handling your menstrual cycle the old ways simply because you are scared using sanitary pads for fear of being used against you. Yes that's my life in Germany.

Biden will say that's Racist 😂 to deport
I'm curious: I don't see Germany celebrating the D-Day Ceremony. What's wrong?!
There are so many other countries who don’t bother with the D-day too.
@@hafizuddinmohdlowhim8426 But, why is so? I thought it was the liberation day for all European countries! What went wrong? I'm African and I don't know the history of the D-Day.
Because Germans were the baddies in D day.
@@samuellopesbaule5745Germany doesnt Celebrate it because the ussr Launched a WAY larger offensive (Operation bagration)
Why would we? It's still thousands of Germans that died there. A day of mourning all the dead of ww2 would be adequate, but then again the eastern front was were horror beyond imagination took place. Dday was a lot less significant than e.g. the battle of Stalingrad for us.
So there is nothing really to celebrate and towards commemorations there were simply way more significant events from our perspective.
They once had a CAMP with head sign " Arbett Macht Frei " as said maybe applicable to Asylum seeker ?
The same goes if you are a smooker.
I don't belive him He likes to talk a lot but doesn't do much
Bring back the peoples court
You Germans better show up and vote AFD
Scholz dont get it twisted am going back to Garissa alone with the little money i get German government i have no intention to prostitute myself there.
What rules
It’s open borders
Per the EU

Haven't been following Scholz' complete track record on holding up his promises. Maybe someone could explain why this should or should not be taken seriously.
Gemany liv pooor and helthy
He's all talk, no action! He's been saying that for months and hasnt done anything thus far!!!
When he says abroad, it means protecting the IDF, it's that simple
In Germany we do not use the word "deportation" due to horrible historical connotations. Please do the same in English and say "pushing away" which is the literal translation of our preferred term.
WTF?
@@juniorrokudevelopertutoria3734 Alright, you can say "repatriation".
@@erikt1713 that's a lot better, than this mumbo Jumbo language
