Sticking with my kayak or kayaks period.
I'd prefer a the jon boat if it was bigger and had a more powerful motor and a trolling motor on the front, but primarily because I'm lazy and dont want to paddle or peddle.

I thought this was gonna be a jon boat vs kayak challange! I fish in a hobie and my buddy fishes out of a 14' jon boat. Some times i out fish him and some times he out fishes me.... make it happen Lojo! Fun video though 🎣🎣🎣

Not sure which pond you were in but it looked like it was on the north side. I grew up in Tallahassee before moving down here to South Florida. Spent many summer weekends on the eastern end of lake Talquin brim and crappie fishing. My son moved back up there when he grew up. He doesn't know it yet but he's getting a kayak for his birthday, so you may see him out on a pond or lake somewhere. I'l be with him in June when I go up for his birthday. Keep up the great vids and keep filling the yak.

I’ve been looking at a 2019 Vibe Sea Ghost 130 and going today to look at a 14’ Jon boat with two mounted seats, a 3.5hp motor, a trolling motor, and a trailer for the same price.
Never owned a boat and not sure which one I’d like better. Both have pros and cons, but I’m going to pull the trigger on one or the other.
I fish the Escambia River Delta flats and river for Bass, Reds, and Specks.
What do you guys think...Vibe Sea Ghost 130 or 14’ Jon boat??

I got caught out in the bay when a front moved in with my 12 Jon boat. The waves came over the front and
sunk my boat. My kayak would not have sunk. I would just get wet. Just for that reason I choose the kayak.
Since you were fishing calm weather a kayak gives you control on where you will fish.

I fished for 1.5 years out of a kayak, a 12' foot Jackson Cuda.
In late 2016 I bought a 15' john boat. I spent the winter building a casting deck on the front. I run a 112 pound thrust trolling motor on the front (Minn Kota Terrova) which has spot lock feature, and two 55 pound thrust trolling motors on the back. No gas motor as most of the smaller lakes in North Georgia don't allow gas motors as they were created as impoundments for drinking water.
No way would I prefer fishing out of a kayak and I can say that as I've done both now. I can stand up easily in the john boat (never did that in the kayak), plus I don't have to paddle all over the place. Getting blown by the wind is no problem with the spot lock. My buddy and I fish electric-only bass tournaments, we usually have 14-17 boats show up. I probably would NOT fish in a john boat without the modifications I made. I did that 2 or 3 times before I started the project... it was a bit of a pain.

Love it. I started with my buddy in his 10 ft Jon boat with 1 trolling motor. Soon we were doing 2 30 lb trolling motors when I got my own 10ft jonboat. Graduated to a 14ft alumacraft with 2 55 lb trolling motors on the back and a 40lb on the front. Insane backwater adventures. Piles of big redfish, huge seafront doormat flounder see tarpon 3-4ft sharks 4 ft spotted rays. And we could go places the fiberglass boats were scared of
I pick "neither". In October of 2016, I bought a Twin Troller X-10. This boat has exceeded every expectation. It's a blast to fish out of. Super versatile, it can run in 7 inches of water. Tough as nails. You can't capsize it if ya tried, and it's unsinkable too. Worth every dollar.

Have 24 ft and 14 ft boats I recently sold my last kayak.Just to much hassle and uncomfortable for night mangrove fishing In the keys at least for me. My johnboat wins just being able to stand up and take a piss without it tipping me over was enough for me lol in the end just get whats better for you Nice vid 👍

I prefer a kayak because I like to get some exercise in while fishing.
When I’m to old to pedal that’s when I’ll buy a boat!

I like a kayak better, my last trip in a jon boat ended up in us flipping the boat and losing a rod and reel. But honestly, not sure if I can blame the boat or our fat butts in there. 🤣

Had it since 04... rebuilt the power head once. I started off with a flat bottom but it would slide so bad turning it that I decided to try a mv. Made a huge difference. It now will not cavitate in chop aswell as eliminated the slide. It's like a little gocart on the river. Nice vid..
