As Santa stated a number of times, the sword/key is bonded to the person who finds it until they die. As Locus could work the sword he took from Felix, that proves that Felix id most definitely dead.
But yeah, as I said at the start of your Chorus Trilogy reactions, I think this is the best written of all the RvB arcs. And yeah, that ending was a big gut punch. I don't think I realised just how attached I'd gotten to that obnoxious blue a-hole who can't shoot for toffee until the moment he was gone. As for Felix... Well Miles is usually cast as nice-guy characters, so it's a tribute to his acting ability that he made a villain who was so horrid that his death was that satisfying.

@@Rykage_ I love Felix as a villain. It's cool facing off against big bads like The Meta, but there's something so personally satisfying about kicking Felix's ass.
Another fun fact, there at the end? Where Felix stands alone against everyone, even his own partner... Remember the vision Locus had during his 'trial', standing at a low point, surrounded by people who couldn't understand him and deemed him a monster that needed to be destroyed. If you look at the scenes side-by-side, they mirror each other.

And just as a heads up, Season 14, while very good overall, is an anthology, aka a whole bunch of short stories, some canon, some not. It was made, assumedly, because the head writer (Miles Luna) wanted to focus more on RWBY.

This is, as many have said, considered their true ending of the main RvB storyline, though the show was designed to have suitable endings multiple times (season 5, season 8, season 10.) so it's up to the audience which they choose to accept as their own ending point.
Epsilon Church breaking himself down into the memories of the AI fragments to power the Meta's armour adds another tally in the Church death counter.
Season 14 is an anthology series where RT brought in new writers and creators from across their staff and outside RT to see what stories new voices could tell in this universe, (or to just do cool shit) and to pick out Miles and Burnie's successor as lead writers/showrunners allowing them to focus more on their other projects going at the time.

Here's a fun fact the song that plays during Kimble's speech is Half Life from Trocadero, my personal favorite song written for RvB. It was actually one of the songs written for RvB all the way back in 2004 but didn't end up getting used until Season 13 and its promotional material, before it's breakdown it is a very calm and lackadaisical song. It had a very Church or Grif vibe to it, especially with the lines "Drinking Maritini's again, on a Sunday morning" & "And I'm lost inside a bar, And I'm drunk inside a war."
I believe the only songs from that album that went unused in RvB are 617, All As One, and maybe Funny Farm. Something fun about Trocadero's Red vs Blue album is that it includes a lot of the original backstory for the characters that would later go on to be changed. A Girl Named Tex tells the story of Church and Tex's first meeting and how they hit it off. It also reveals Tex's original intended name before it was changed to Alison, Beth.

  • @TearsOfLa

So from here theres two ways you can view the rest. you can keep going through the seasons in release order, but know that by the time you get to Restoration, it will all be retconned back to this moment, or you can watch restoration here as the conclusion of this version of the story, then move into Season 14 and beyond, as restoration makes very minor mentions to post-chorus trilogy stuff (only easter eggs and side characters that act very different to their 15-18 counterparts), so it isn't required to enjoy resoration.
Alternatively, 14 is great, 15 is my favourite place to call "The end of the show" even more so than here as most people will say, and 16-17 give some good character development for people we haven't explored yet, but kinda jump the shark plot-wise, then you can skip zero unless you want to watch it for the rage bait engagement of people saying they hate it (feed the algorithm with their tears lol), and wrap around to restoration as the conclusive finale.

The fight at the purge is my third favourite fight behind Tex vs the reds and blues, and the heist. So dynamic and action packed with great character payoff (wash being a blade master in freelancer, which is then never brought up again because knives don't exist in halo for example).
Dropping a spaceship on someone is a badass finisher, but if anime has taught me anything, if you don't see a body they arent dead. Wash and Carolina should watch some more anime xD In that same vein, they were only like 50 feet apart. If they survived, why would they assume Felix and Locus didn't?
So to elaborate on Felix's biggest fear being Locus, Felix is a badass in his own right, but pretty mucheveryone is ore confident when they have a wingman. They were partners during the war and learned to rely on each other, but they were always competing over who was better, as per Kimball's explanation. However, when Locus lost his morals, Felix found an opportunity to get one over on Locus and feed this idea that he is a weapon and not a person. It gave him a level of control over Locus, and he started to rely on that power. It allowed him to be as cocky as he wanted, because in the end he had a monster in his corner that would always back him up regardless of the morals, because the mission came first. His fear was losing that control over locus, of locus realizing that he doesn't need Felix, and that he isn't a weapon to be controlled, because that would put them back on an even playing field, but while Felix has been fucking around, Locus has been getting better and better. Felix isn't afraid of Locus the weapon, he is afraid of Locus the person, because Locus the person is the only person who could single-handedly beat him.
Aaah the comm tower fight, so much fun. Felix losing his shit (with miles killing the performance), Locus finally breaking out of his mental prison, O'malley going from being the main villain to fighting the main villain, and contrary to the anime trope, we don't have to see a body this time because the sword only activates when the last holder is dead.
"No, you wont" he was confused and questioning every time he faced off against the crew, always doubting why they were losing to these idiots. Now there is no question, they cannot stop him from leaving, and they will not find him. Period.
Junior! Sister! (shes color blind, that why she said "the grey guy" when talking about Lopez haha)
    hmmmm. Im thinking Freelance-a-phobia
"Kinda tight int he crotch" This implies that either tucker is really big or Maine was really small. Wonder which...
"Out of everyone I've ever mat, I hate you all the least" is a callback to season 1 where after being shot by sheila, he tells tucker "Ive always hated you, I've always hated you the most". His last words to his friends in a human body, and his last words to them as an AI.
I actually used church's speech here in my senior showcase fo rhigh school, with the idea being "I don't want to be the hero that never sees his ending, I want to see thefruit of my labor and be content".
Aint that a bitch......... IM NOT CRYING YOUR CRYING

Pretty much everyone agrees that the chorus trilogy is the peak of the show but theres still plenty left to watch.
Season 14 is less a real season and more a collection of extra content. It can be hit or miss sometimes but it's a fun ride overall
Season 15 gets a bad rap because it follows something as amazing as the Chorus Trilogy. Tbh though its genuinely really good for a one season arc. Not exactly fair to compare it to a trilogy.
Season 16 is a bit of a low point for the series. Characters regress a bit and the general writing gets worse. Its still sort of funny but not the level of quality we're used to.
Season 17 is a clear improvement from the 16th one, but its also a direct continuation of it so it inherits some of the problems and can't fix all of them.
The best part of rvb 0 is how it makes you realize season 16 really wasn't that bad in hindsight...
And then theres a movie now that i actually haven't seen yet.

@@lukedonabedian like I said they weren't on the level of the chorus trilogy or even Carolinas arc before that but I think most of the more glaring flaws were contained in season 16 specifically. Season 15 was amazing for a mostly contained single season arc. Season 16 was kind of a disappointment. And season 17 was pretty good even though it had to deal with a lot of the issues season 16 created because it was a direct continuation.
Zero was just bad in basically every way. Like they established the bad guys with an unironic cool guys don't look at explosions scene. It feels like the kind of thing the real rvb would make fun of. And they used high animation budget for things like Shakey camera angles and having the characters constantly wave their hands around while they talked. It wasn't good...

Have yet to watch the video yet but I already know what’s happening based on the thumbnail and title. Will watch when I’m home.
Anyways though, Congrats on finishing the chorus stuff. Now you can pretty much do what you want from here, although me personally would love to see your reaction to all the stuff after 13. Not going to spoil anything but will say these few things for the stuff afterwards and maybe that can help with your decision. (EDIT: I’m mainly typing this out since I figured there are bound to be some folk who will say “oh you can skip this, move on to this thing instead” or whatever so I figured this might help you decide for yourself).
Season 14: Anthology. There is no long lasting story arc like previous seasons. There would be just short mini stories. Some an episode long, some a few episodes long. I like this season and I think you’d enjoy it.
Season 15-17 this is a new story arc. Won’t say anything about it other than it’s meant to talk about a series of events after chorus. Some love it, some hate it, some are mixed on it. I think 15&17 are great but 16 is kinda rough in my opinion. Still, I think it’s a decent arc.
Season 18 “Zero”: new story, new characters. I personally did not like it as much as the other stuff and can’t remember much from it anyway. I did however love the animation and I think you’d like it too.
Family Shatters (spin-off of Zero): Now I have not seen this one yet but I did hear that fans enjoyed it.
The Red Vs Blue Movie “Restoration”: This is the official finale to the series. I will say nothing about it other than that If you wish to watch this now, you technically can, for the information from 15-18 is not relevant. I will not explain how or why. I will put the prologue trailer here but I suggest you only watch it IF you ultimately decide to make this the next rvb vid or after you are done with 15-17 (maybe 18 if you decide to watch that). Here it is.
    czcams.com/video/lZ5k8TCyxM8/video.htmlsi=Xms9GZ5H7D3xi8vR

Yep. That’s epsilon and Felix dead for the count. Locus could use Felix’s sword meaning he was 100% dead no question ifs ands or buts.
Now, as for the rest of the series. Season 14 is a collection of short stories kinda fleshing out the world and a few wacky adventures in the same universe a few with new characters. Season 15 kicks back up with the main story. People can choose to have either the Shisno arc to be canon, or the Restoration arc to be canon. Personally I like shisno to restoration but it’s up to you. Both have good parts but shisno and longer and has its own terrific arcs for characters like Wash, Donut, Grif, and Doc.
IMO watch the series like normal but feel free to skip Zero as literally no one likes it and they ruin established lore and arcs multiple times. Don’t take my word for it do whatever you want the continuity here gets kinda wonky. Just know the ‘golden age’ ends with 14

As incredible as I've always found this ending, it also just...kind of doesn't make sense. The entire purpose of the Meta suit here is that Hargrove modified it to not need an AI. That's why he was able to use it as motivation for Felix and Locus: They would be able to use it without any issues. But...Epsilon isn't strong enough to run it for some reason? Even if he's just a fragment, the suit shouldn't need ANY AI to run, so he would still only be an objective improvement.
