Starting my LBSF adventure soon. Landed a blacktip with my dad when i was younger in Navarre. In tampa bay/st pete area now. Going to be picking up a 8k spinning combo to start out. Thanks for all the tips, it really helps us beginners out.

What is the light your using the green and black one ?
The lights on the rods are just deep drop swordfishing lights- we use them to see slack lines at night when the shark swims in with the bait

Thrasher rods- looking to build a rod for one of my makaira 80W. As of now, would to do the tow truck or the crowbar XL? Fishing the same aria as you guys.
Go with the crowbar heavy if you plan on running 35-45lbs of drag- if you plan on 50-50lbs at strike- fish the towtruck
