Btw what do you think about catching catfish with frogs? I've seen a few people do it here where I live and they caught some nice catfish, but haven't tried it out myself yet.
+3xScArFaCex3 we used to get frogs squished all over our roads at certain times of year.Now I rarely see these "flattened" migrations.Yet I still see frog spawn,so no idea why we seem to have a shortage of frogs here. Can't be the wet weather.We get plenty of that.Maybe a natural cycle.

Glad you like the video...This last winter was about the worst for our Cod fishing that I can ever recall,boat or shore.. I for one will be grateful when the "Blue Dogs" rock up again ...I need something to catch.

What length is that white rod and what size reel have you on it ?
Going blue shark fishing in Cork next Monday will a tld 30 A do the job if i hooked something big lets say a porbeagle
should be fine,but mine are loaded with 50lb line.

+Ross Turner Couple of films already up on our site with big Porbeagles from small boats.Check our sea playlist. East of St.Ives area in North Cornwall is the latest hotspot. Spring the best time. Or you could try Newquay.Its all pretty much the same ground.

Was the bright pink lure just fished by itself or with a lead attached above it ?
It had a lead above it on a "french boom" to help it get down deep. As soon as the lead hits the bottom you start winding
it was on a French boom rig mate and yes it did have a lead attached to it with a weak link of line for a rotten bottom.
Can I use oat bran for your fresh water grounedbait mix with bread thanks
+LP3Cruisesandfishing Why not try it.Not too much oats,I find it can go gluey and is more of a binding agent for other groundbait mixes .

Nice film. How would a 40-80 g casting weight equate to one rated in pounds. I've just bought a 6-12lb ugly stik for the kayak, my other kayak rods are LRF- 0.7-7g, HRF 5-15g & I use a quiver tip feeder rod too, 10-14g. All are rated in metric. I'm guessing my new rod would be more like the casting weight of yours. Please help me make sense of it?

+TAFishing I have tried forums a bit, but as I got nowhere I thought I'd consult The Oracle! I guess Ill keep trying & go with how it feels. I spooled up my new-to-me Abu with 11kg Gliss today to see how it performs on the Feeder rod. I also cut off the tip & next ring down adding a more robust end ring to see if it can last a season being bashed about on the kayak. Thanks for your entertainment for me & the kids. Keep up the good work.

Are boat rods with multipliers awkward to use when fishing with a French boom ?
No.Once its dropped down slowly it should be no different than a spinning reel.I am assuming you are talking about boat fishing where the French boom is used.

Graeme were you using a French boom when you caught that cod ?
Can't remember,but I generally do.Shop bought wire cheapies for shallow inshore,or make my own using coat hanger wire for bigger,deepwater fish.
