Guys, from all the videos, you should know that Nimo and her family would so much love for Jane to stay in The Netherlands, Jane would love to do so herself, but due to personal reasons she decides to go back home🙂🙂 I think we should all just be happy that she has had an experience and now a life long friendly connection with her host family.

You have such a beautiful family. Can I say this and hopefully it won't offend anyone. But, baby boy Keon has a little cold. And as a grandmother and not knowing your customs are you using any home remedies to help baby boy with his cold or allergies? He sounds congested which could be from allergies in the respiratory system. I would like to suggest some old black american remedies. Wash a whole lemon and juice it, place the whole lemon in a pot and allow it to boil to a rushing boil. Let it cool gradually and add a little raw honey or white sugar while still warm. Give baby boy a few spoonfuls or a cup full and allow baby boy to drink it. Don't let it cool all the way just cool enough for him to drink it. It's should taste like warm lemonade, not to sweet and a little warmer than room temperature. And if Keon has just a normal cold, this lemon tea will help him bring up a lot of mucus from his chest. He should be ready for bed or not leaving home for a few hours. Because we don't want the cold to get to uncomfortable for him. However if it is related to allergies, you should have him see a pediatrician and follow up with an ENT. Most children Keon's age don't get a lot of common colds. But, it's very important that you have him checked out. Making sure it's nothing serious. I don't know if you've ever heard of @Father's John children's cough syrup or not. @Father's John is a mixture of some cod liver oil and cough suppressants. My mother used it on me and I used it for my children. Besides that it's great for keeping your babies healthy. But, it is very important that you rule out as many causes as possible without him experiencing any pain. Also a vaporizer in his room will help him get a lot of relief from chest congestion. But, don't leave it on all day and make sure his body is dry whenever he goes out of the house especially during the winter months. Again I apologize if I have offended you or anyone else. But, I have reached that professional grandma stage and we always want to give our unsolicited advise. Thank you for reading this and may God bless and keep you and your entire family.
Hi Debra, thank you very much for your wonderful tips . I really appreciate all the information you’ve shared with me . I gave him chamomile tea with honey and it seemed to help . I tried giving him lemon tea as well but he didn’t like it that much . I also rubbed menthol balm on his chest, back and forehead. You know he went to daycare for the first time then came back home with the flu, it was not nice at all. Jarik my youngest and I got it too 😃.
We’re all doing good now and trying to stay as warm as possible.
I will check if they have that syrup around here or on Amazon .

@@nimomamakeonjarik I hope it helped. But, don't use the menthol vapor rubs on his or your chest because it opens up the pores and you can develop pneumonia easily. However I use it on the bottom of my feet and put on some nice warm socks to sleep in. I don't know the exact science for it but, cold enters through our heads and chest easily and the heat usually lingers in our feet. So whenever I develop a simple cold I pull out the menthol vapor rub and apply it to my feet just before I go to bed at night and in the morning I feel like a new person. I want to ask if you could make a video in which you highlight the raising of your childeren bilingual. Do you also teach them your native language? Or only Dutch & English. I wonder how you manage to do this. Especially because your au-pair does not speak Dutch.
Hi Anne , I will try to remember to film Keon when he’s speaking Dutch with his dad and when he’s speaking English to me, and then explain how we do it . It’s really nice to see how our kids understand both very well and how quickly they can switch

I could like to ask a question let's say I arrive in the Netherlands and I've done a pair for one year and I got friends or family in France or UK or Spain can one leave and settle with them lke just booking a train or driving someone there.Nimo you are a vibe am in France and am from kenya and I got a Kenyan galfrnd and I could wish she come with this aupair pratform then we change her doc could it work.

Hi dear, I honestly have no idea how to do that and even if it’s possible in Germany. In The Netherlands you must use an agency . If you have your own Au pair in mind then you call an agency and you tell them that, then they will take it from there

Yes that’s the rules , you can go to another country if you like but you must vacate The Netherlands as far as I know

Coz you can be an Au pair for only 1 year in The Netherlands, you may not become an Au pair twice here, and also she wanted to go back home for her own personal reasons . She’s not interested in marrying a white man or to go to school, it may come as a surprise but not everyone has the same dreams
