The Office "NO GOD PLEASE NO" in different languages

  • Famous "The Office" Scene (S5E9) in 6 different languages : English, German, Latin Spanish, French, Italian, Brazilian Portuguese
DISCLAIMER : I am aware and sorry that I have put by mistake the Portuguese flag instead of the Brazilian one in the video. Same goes for the Spanish one which should be Latin Spanish (and UK instead of US, but no one complained about that one ^^). It is complicated for me to change that now, however I hope you can still enjoy the video. Peace :)

Kudos to the Italian crew, because they made The Office sound more like the telenovelas my abuela made me watch growing up! I love how this clip of Michael can be used as a reaction for so many situations and it's STILL relatable! I also love how Toby is literally just the most normal and boring person in the world who doesn't get phased by anything, even Michael's obsessive hatred. And a fun fact, the script simply said Michael screams when he sees Toby...so the "NOOO, GOD! NO, GOD, PLEASE, NO! NO! NO! NOOOO" part was ALL Steve improvising!

Reading subtitles actually asks the watcher to use one very basic human skill : reading. Eveybody and his grandmother do it since they're 7 years old. You spend your life reading, all the time.
Subtitles are specifically made to be readable in less than half a second, it is an absolutely trivial task, kind of like breathing actually. Of course, you'll switch to manual breathing mode if you focus so much on breathing and it will ruin the next 10 seconds or so. Not a so pleasant experience right ?

I like how the French one isn't a straight translation from English but a made up one to better sync with the actor's lips while still meaning the same thing, also the voice actor did it really well 👍

@cadelinha do you listen to doubled songs? Or you listen to them in the original language? Why? Because to make a good song, you also need a good voice. Same goes for actors. The voice of the actor is important for the experience of a tv show or movie. And I'm not American if that's what you are thinking
