Zotek has done well with this platform. Prices have edged up noticeably on some of the cheap-o meters, but quality and accuracy is better too on a few - this ones doing ok considering prices these days and its features including V.F.C and 10,000 count EBTN display - but the little 2,000 count HT108L is way overpriced at $30+ - again this ZT-Y is on par for its feature set and accuracy. Good to see youre feeling better & back in action Darren-!!

I have ZOYI ZT-Y (actually, Zotek is original manufacturer, they deliver OEM for Aneng, Bside and Richmeters), UNI-T 39E+ and UNI-T 61E (old version, but i bought it new in 2022)). UNI-T 61E is real precise TRUE RMS king, of course.. All three have a good build quality and normal traditional ADC chip. I don`t like COB, epoxy bloob without any marking))) By the way, CEM is very interesting chinese DMM`s, i don`t have one but they are very well builded) Three DMM`s is more than enough for me!! Aneng SZ18 is a great all-rounder. But the color coded dial makes it difficult to read even in decent light. The contrast ratio between blue and red text on black background seems too low.
I think Zotek’s traditional panel is much more readable with its nice big font and high contrast. It might seem like nitpicking but in the end these small details constitute the overall UX.
That’s a well-deserved 4 stars for Zotek ZT-Y.👍

This was a mini review of sorts because I reviewed the ANENG (almost same model) 2 years ago..but. in retrospect I probably should have done them again. ! 😃
Zotek and a sister? company Zoyi have some interesting meters. Zoyi has a pocket multimeter, ZT08, that has 8000 count on it.
So true Eric, some great test instruments coming from them. I use my Zotek ZT-980 everyday ! Lovin it!

Hey Darren, thanks for the review. Just watched your SZ18 review since you mentioned it - have they added a beep to the continuity test in this revision? I didn't see it mentioned in this video, and you mentioned it as a downside previously. Also, it looks like they slightly improved the stand, is that right?
Oh yea...this is a nice upgrade .! ..it definitely has a loud audible continuity too. Stand is still the same..not the greatest but it will do. 👍
Are Aneng Q10 and SZ18 the same ?

Hi Darren, like ive said to you so many times, Zotek/Zoyi make great meters for the likes of aneng to use. i would love them to really show what they can do with a more premium meter, maybe like owon or the other top chinese manufacturers. they have have the skills and competence to challenge brymen, etc

Nice looking DMM. Seems to work pretty accurate. But I don´t know entirely for sure. I don´t trust, that the results of a former test of an ancestor with a different chip set are identical to the results of the new one. Hence there are some of usual tests missing. So I can only assume: It is probably a pretty useful tool for electronics and for car elelectrics. Still not for HV A/C.

Yes..hindsight tells me I dropped the ball on this one. Apologies. I should have retested all the ranges again especially as there's a new QFP microcontroller on board...sigh 😔

The tilt stand...looks scary to use, flashbacks from my Aneng M118A over here! Definitely not heavy duty!
Curious on battery life with a negative display. Update rate is also pretty good. Leads certainly let it down. Saw the older Aneng version and it sold four times the M118A at the time of purchase!
This is a solid multimeter! The battery life isn't bad but I should do a proper test and report back..tilt stand is terrible!

habotest 118a vs zotek zty which one is better sir? I want to buy 1 of these two.
They are both excellent multimeters and would serve you well. If portability is a factor then go with the Zotek. I it will be staying on the bench then Habotest.
