I get to see new first reactions to Forestella again! 😊👍 Just a little info about the members for your enjoyment; Their lineup from left to right on your screen is Ko Woorim, a rare, classically trained basso profundo. In Korea they have the surname (family name) first. So his friends call him Woorim. And so on. Next is Kang Hyung-ho, a countertenor/soprano with no formal training who had a rock group on weekends and worked by day as a biochemical engineer. Then we have the group leader, a classically trained leggero tenor, Cho Mingyu. Finally, a musical theater actor, Bae Doo-hoon, a baritone/tenor. He's the oldest of the group at 37 while Woorim is the youngest at 28. A world of delight awaits you now! For pure magical experience, I suggest Nella Fantasia, Angel and Hijo de la Luna (son of the Moon) and for epic greatness, Champions, Legends Never Die and Warriors. One of my personal favorites is Spread Silk On My Heart, which has an Arabian flair. I could list many more but thats enough for now to get you down the great path ahead! Scarborough Fair was first sung by Mark Anderson (1874-1953), a retired lead miner from Middleton-in-Teesdale, The version using the melody later used by Simon & Garfunkel. Forestella is amazing. Also try Despacito, Shape of You, Bad Romance, Legends never Die, Lazenca save Us or their MV White Night. 👍

This is from old English folk song. Simon & Garfunkel version is the most famous as far I know.
There are some stories about this song Scarborough Fair..what I've read was this is a song from a ghost (soul) of a dead soldier. He asked the herbs growing on his dead body to deliver his message to his beloved girl in Scarborough Fair where was a big herb market. He asked the herbs to tell her impossible task "Tell her to make me a cambric shirt without no seams nor needle work" to make her give up waiting for his coming back as he's already unable as he's dead. Forestella sang like as messengers of this sad and beautiful story.
Also there are symbols those herbs significated: parsley for comfort or to remove bitterness, sage for strength, thyme for courage, and rosemary for love. There's some speculation that these four herbs were used in a tonic of some sort to remove curses. What I first heard was to remove memories..so I thought he (the dead soldier) wanted to remove the memory about him from his girl to make her not mourning for him anymore.
BTW I found those herbs cannot be grown in the same areas in fact while on my researching English references.. so it could be just for remembering the recipe for turkey seasoning ingredients, too.

Forestella are practice fanatics, and barely have days away from each other, in fact Cho Mingyu has said maybe less that 4 or 5 days a month apart, they just like to get what they do perfect, and it shows.

They have many original songs. Save our Lives, Utopia and White Nights. You should listen to them in that order. It is a trilogy. They are a must listen to!

Sad note… Ko WooRim the bass singer begins his Korean mandatory two year military duties November 20th. He will be missed!

If you liked Hyungho’s high voice, you will like “ Hijo de la Luna”, and “Nella Fantasia”. They also have a song called “Angels”, sung by true angels! Sadly for all of us, Forestella will now be taking a long hiatus, as Woorim (the low voice you like), has to leave for his mandatory military service. As he said good bye yesterday, a lot of people were crying! Thanks for your reaction!

Scarborough Fair is an old English ballad - 1800's. Crosby and Nash made it popular in 1966 (the beginning of the Hippy Movement). I remember it well. This version is a masterpiece.
