Curse you Mr. Catweazle. I was on the fence until you released this video. Now I, too, have fallen under the spell of Mage Knight and just ordered it. Really looking forward to this new playthrough! Best of luck, sir.

Evidence exists that the Cultists were finally successful in their ancient quest to waken the dark god Amara who repaid his followers by unleashing his might upon the land. Believed to be the strongest of the known Mage Knights, Arythea has emerged from the Chaos more powerful than ever and she has gone forth spreading Amara’s bloody gospel as she crushes her foes under her spiked heel. Under her leadership the Blood Cultists have slipped the bonds of their former masters in the Dark Crusade and become a power unto themselves; feared by many and respected by all. No one knows where Arythea will strike next but one thing is certain, the bloody god Amara has directed her to participate in the Council of the Void’s plans and will be pleased with her conquests and the proliferation of his teachings…
Bloody Hell man, how do you do it? I watch quite a bit of youtube and a bit of Netflix and I used to be able to keep up with your channel but I'm still finishing off Arkham and you are two games ahead. As you know I'm just kidding, and also impressed, power to your elbow man. Great to see you enjoying the hobby of thematic games and sharing it with so much enthusiasm. One of these days I'll catch up. 8-)
It's tempting to go to the village and kill the orcs in your first turn, using your entire hand and blue mana die to move 6, block 3 and attack 5. But if the dummy player only plays 3 cards I'd advise you to go more slowly, move to the village or mine, and aim to take down the orcs in turn 2, with the benefit of a new mana die from the source.
You saw what I was going to do, George! I think I will still do that. I get your point though. But I do want to level up and get that Advanced Action asap.
See, if you play 7 of your 16 cards in the first turn, you are already halfway through the deck (and thus halfway through the day). So leveling up in turn 2, having played 5-6 cards total, is actually faster than leveling up in turn 1, having played 7 cards. Unless the dummy play is speeding up. Solo Conquest is like Test Cricket, you got to be patient and make the most of your chances ;). Playing 7 cards in turn 1 to kill an orc is like being 50 for 4 after 10 overs.
I'm looking forward to this one . . . nudging me ever closer to doing a playthrough of this myself . . . ;)
You must , Paul. The Council of the Void decrees it! :D

Hey Brian!
Worry not, mate. I have a million Shadows of Brimstone minis to paint... You'll catch up! 😃
I just got this game and have lost 4 solo games in a roll. I look forward to learning about some strategies.
Where did you buy the black textured mat?
Hi conorleyden. That is just a black yoga mat! Look for a yoga mat on amazon and just choose a black one. :)
I keep starting Mage Knight but never finish it! Maybe it's time..... :)
Hi Andy!
It's a great game. I'm thoroughly enjoying it. I'm glad I finally dove in. :)

It's okay. I have a plan! :D
