first time being a banksman other day at work never done it before the truck driver explained how to do it and it is quite easy but he did tell me i should have told him to stop sooner otherwise when he was raising the catwalk it could have hit the trailer but he said it was good for a first time and said i should leave space to be able to walk betweent the back of the trailer very easy tbh tho
i got my CPCS slinger signaller ticket in ACOP, 1st on site experience was with a Tower crane to then a tower crane with trolly (hand held controls than cabin), i had over a year and half banksman experience with traffic and a tele handler before i went for the slinger/ signaller course and when they do a CPCS traffic Marshall course ill be booking my place. When i have more slinger experience ill spend the money necessary to get bother Slinger sig and traffic marshal blue cards and feel very confident in what i am doing. if you have on site experience even at banksman youre almost half way there with signalls, saftey regs, things like over head cables & pedestrians, slinging is about lifting, accessories, communications, LOLAR, what makes communications with a radio falter, etc. we all got asked what is the golden rule of lifting by a health and saftey manager, i answered it correctly others in the lift team forgot (Crane operator, and 2 other slingers.
It is hard to find firts job like slinger without experience?
Good✌
I want to be a crane operator.. Is it best to do the slinger ticket first?
Yes, I think that's a great way to go, completing the slinger/signaller course first should give you a good grounding in lifting operations prior to moving onto the operation. Although we have recently noticed that 'combined' courses to cover both crane (crawler in particular) and slinger/signaller are increasing in popularity. Give us a call on 01269 844155 if you'd like to talk over some options. Thanks.
@@acoptrainingltd can you do these courses if you've got no previous experience?
@@glasgowrangersyouletyourcl5032 Yes, we run full foundation courses. Give us a call on 01269844155. Thanks.
there is now a mobile crane operator course at acop for mobile crane operator, i even showed/ told my superviser whos a blue card slinger and he wants to go on it also
Hello !!! Iwould to know how much earn the crane mobile if he have code 14 licence driving licence
crane operators earn good money, mobile, currently they do at ACOP, tower you might have to go somewhere else, ask ACOP they will give you a lot of information
Is it hard to get a job without experience
yes it is, but i pushed and pushed and my 1st was with a tower crane now a pedestrian crane and i'm still there, as i had a lot of experience traffic marshalling and banksman including hand signals it helped me get on sites, but dont give up. every day i sling up the padestrian/ trolly crane and traffic marshal also taking pictures of me doing things to show my experience
Good vedio, but is too short need to learn more up to about 5 minutes vedio
I've always wanted to be a slinger or a crane operator, my dad is a slinger and is now a black hat
i did slinger sig at acop and my 1st onsite experience was with a tower crane and now a pedestrian crane and is still there. if your old man is a black hat or to me a crane/ lift supervisor, you should pass it with ease and get ou on sites with no problems. i work with a former crane operator on oil rigs and he gives me pointers/ hints about slinging.
i liked being a banksman/ traffic marshal, to then move on to a slinger/ sig, for me when i achieve my blue card, i will go for black hat
