    On the rotors being reversed, you got lucky. I have actually had the lugs back off because they were mounted on the wrong side.
    As to using a torch to loosen the lug nuts....I found a much easier way to bust them loose. eBay has a very reasonably priced torque multiplier kit that I keep inside my truck. The kit has the multiplier and several size sockets, including the square drive!

    Glad I found this !!! I just used a 50 ton gear puller on my inner duals and it's jaws ripped small pieces out of the wheel holes! I said "C'mon Man! Something has to be holding this thing on!"
    I get it - you unscrew the WHEEL STUDS !!! (and there are smaller fixed studs inside those)

    What impact do you use ? A handheld 3/4 or a big boy handle 1”? My breaker bar does nothing on these lugs 😄

    Hey man I love your vids! I learned how to do brakes and adjust the parking and rears because of you. I just recently changed the front calipers on a 2016 and I am unsure of the bleeding procedure. I have the IDSS software but I am not sure if I need the truck running or not. I read a lot of different info on the web. How do you bleed brakes on the npr?

    I love this channel! I'm shopping for a used NPR. It would be great if you could do a video about how to spot a good or bad NPR for sale (what to look for or avoid). I've pretty much settled on a 2000 HD diesel from Craigslist but I'd be lying if I told you I wasn't worried.

    Hi, Question: you mentioned to invest in a torch to help get these stubborn Lugnuts off. Not exactly sure what torch and how I would use it. Could you recommend a model number of an appropriate torch? And do I just heat up the stud in the middle of the nut or heat the outside of the nut as well? What I like about Your videos is that you give step by step instruction(even the steps that might be considered common sense to some). Thanks

    Thanks for the good vids. What's torque spec for the axle flange bolts?

  • @johnnytacokleinschmidt515

    You may need a pork chop wrench if the outer nut seizes to the inner combination nut stud on the rear wheels. Get one ahead of time. Good MAP gas plumbing torch will provide adequate heat to aid removal in most cases.

    Can you do a maintenance video for a gas Npr 5.7. You’re very helpful because there’s not many videos in CZcams on nprs.
    Also, do you know where I can find my blinker flash relay. I don’t seem to find it.

      @nitronick5659 Před rokem

      The flasher relay is mounted behind the radio. Good luck. They do vary by year. My 1999 is a weird one. $170!!!

    Just in case i missed your answer. On drivers side that is reverse thread. Once outer lug nut is removed, will the inner stud that 21mm socket is used on be reverse thread as well. Thanks

  • @shonuffisthemaster

    are all the rims the same? i imagined that the outer rim had bigger lug holes so that it could go around the inner lug nut flange, but that dosent seem to be the case. does the outer rim have enough of a countersink so that it doesn't hit the inner lug nut flange, or does it ride on that flange?

  • @Tealdog038

    Do you torque the stud's to 362ft/lbs also?

  • @andyg817

    Sorry but, Are those rear studs left hand thread too ???

    • @LVSWRKINGATNITE
      @LVSWRKINGATNITE Před 11 měsíci +1

      On these trucks, all the studs will have an L if they are the driver side and that means left-hand threads front and rear.

    What do you do when both lugs want to come off at the same time on the back wheels?

    • @Nprdoctor
      @Nprdoctor  Před rokem +1

      They should be torqued the same (362) re torque the inner. Slightly over torque the inner with your square socket. Then use a torch to heat the outer lug nut. Inspect the lug nuts and studs for damage. Replace as needed

    • @nitronick5659
      @nitronick5659 Před rokem +1

      When loosening, you should also make sure that your socket is only engaged on the outer nut if you are using a Budd wheel socket. When loosening or tightening the outer wheel nuts I always keep the socket about 1/4 inch from touching the wheel.
