Chessington World Of Adventures Has Reopened! Zoo Tour, Social Distancing & More

- On Thursday 18th June 2020, Chessington World Of Adventures reopened their zoo for the first time since March. In this vlog we head to resort to see all of the different animals, along with checking out the various different changes that the park have put into place. This includes temperature checks, social distancing markers and hand sanitiser stations! We also check out the other changes across the park including exploring the new themed area for 2020, The Rainforest!

I love rainy day theme park vlogs. I grew up in Orlando in the 90s and basically lived at Disney, Universal, and Busch Gardens.
As I’m sure you know, it’s likely to rain every afternoon there. I have so many rainy day memories and feel like the rain changes the park experience in a unique way...a rainy day at a park is very different from a sunny day. I love that dynamic!

My favourite ride is Vampire but I’m really upset to hear that Rameses Revenge got changed but I do remember the classic Bubbleworks that is now the Gruffalo ride

Always enjoyed going to chessington. The rainforest is perfect for the park since Mr Toads did not fit the surrounding theming of “Africa” at all. Sad to see thrill rides like Rameses go since there should be something for everyone in a theme park. Hoping they don’t get rid of Kobra.
if a theme park only opened the shops, you'd be the only person going and you'd still make a 60-minute vlog of it.
As we like to cover all of the latest updates, we certainly would visit for the reopening of a shop! However it’s doubtful our vlog would be 60 minutes just inside a shop!

I know Rameses is already being replaced by a Drop tower but a very rare cool thing to do in the land where Rameses was maybe make a looping coaster? Mack Launch?!?! I know Chessington is a Children’s theme park but it would be cool to see a Mack launch called Rameses Return!
Chessington brings back many childhood memories. My dad never would let me on Ramasis. Sad I’ll never be able to ride it😔 but great vlog as always!
News Flash: The Spanish amusement park Terra Mítica announced today that they will not open again this year. Due to the corona crisis, the amusement park, located in the city of Benidorm, will skip this entire season. Visitors are welcome again in the spring of 2021.
Sad news that they’re staying closed for 2020, but understandable as their theme park is visited by mostly tourists!

It’s weird how blue barnacle is currently on the map when I doubt it will be open tomorrow but guess I’ll find out in a couple of hours. I can’t wait !!
If you were there in rameses last couple of days, the arms were ever so slightly out of sync. It really needed to close however much we loved it. It broke down more times than an actual completed cycle on its last day.
It certainly had come to the end of its life unfortunately

How does one fit the zoo into a trip to Chessignton alongside all of the rides?
There’s quite a lot to fit in on a visit to the park, but you can usually manage if you only have a quick walk through the zoo!

Neverbeen here, it's the only merlin Park in the UK I haven't visited but from the videos I've seen from it, it looks like a great park. I do think they need a new coaster however, maybe a small scale GCI or gravity group woodie, themed to the jungle or something, would be nice to see.

Great vlog Shawn. I love the way you throw yourself into every vlog no matter the weather or conditions in a park. Chessington certainly has some great distancing and safety measures. All parks should follow suit with the quarantine basket idea.
As you said, it will work and we can enjoy our parks again provided people follow the rules and are sensible. Good to see you back in the parks.

Fond memories of Chessington as a kid in the early 90s. Vampire was the first ride I experianced a shoulder restraint 😂, Ramesis revenge was my first ever inverted ride and Professor Burps BubbleWorks was my first proper dark ride.
It was such a special park to me as a kid, growing up visiting Chessington!
Cant wait until rides start opening at the theme parks and vlogs start to go back to normal :)

Dam I wish you were here right now at the hotel! It’s going off big time! They have booked to many people in for the restaurant. People have been waiting in the cue for over an hour and sat at the table for up to two hours waiting for there first drink people are freaking out!!! I wish I had the confidence to film this.

I was at whipsnade zoo yesterday and it was superb with what they've done in terms of all the social distancing markers and one way systems. BUT no one was sticking to the social distancing markers or the one way systems. So much overcrowding at exhibits (people trying to squeeze between you into gaps) and people going the wrong way down the one way system causing bottlenecks. Unfortunately a real shame.
It’s such a shame when people can’t follow the rules

The First amusement park that has been announced to reopen is South Shields Ocean Beach, they will be introducing the New ‘Fun Card’ and will not be giving the tickets out until COVID is done

Great to see get out and do a vlog on chessington zoo. Just a suggestion Yorkshire Wildlife Park at Doncaster is open its only a couple of hours from Uttoxetor i know as i used to live in that area. There are no decent vlogs of Yorkshire Wildlife online and the Big Zoo television programme didnt really do it justice either. There are indoor and outdoor play areas for the kids but they wont be open at the moment. No one has done a vlog since it reopened. It is a large good quiality zoo and is due to expand. They are the only zoo in the uk to have rolloway monkeys and the only zoo in england to have polar bears and red howler monkeys. They specialise in endangered species. They have an app which you can download about the animals as they are not doing ranger talks or feeds at the moment or the big bugs or deadly bugs shows, which is a shame as i know you like your shows.

Hearing you talk about Vampire reminds me of a VHS tape I had years ago, called 'White Knuckle', which was a documentary all about rollercoasters. Do you remember it? 🙂 I think the cover for it was bright pink!

Heya, what do you think the queues will be like when the park re-opens. And do you think any rides may be closed, if so which ones?
I imagine the park will want as close to a full operation as possible. There’s no makers in place yet in queue lines but we imagine they’ll be similar to what’s in place around the park already!
