The legendary maestro of global fusion is back with a new album that truly embodies the collaborative spirit of co-operation in pursuit of synergistic artistry. Spearheaded by Seb Taylor, the new Kaya Project album, "body.mind.soul" features 19 guest musicians, collectively painting an orchestra of percussive and melodic enchantment. I remember the first time I heard Kaya Project at ozora festival 2011, it was by accident as I went to hear someone else but they ended up changing the timetable slightly and I ended up staying for the full set and was completely blown away by it, ever since I have been a massive fan of this music, truly incredible experience I will never ever forget. Maybe make peace with the labyrinth of matter, so that imagination and creatvity can have it's freedom in the material world we live in. The limitations of our material world create a puzzle that is maybe more satisfying to the soul than infinite freedom in an immaterial plane of timeless existence. To live through the sequence and watch it come together, to play in the dance of the cosmos is pleasing on some kind of deeper level than having all the answers all at once. To be able to say, despite the odds, I found a way. Or did the way find me? Either way it's cool.
