The season started with the election (note Neuman celebrating as state results came in for her and Singer during the start of the Premier, where she was at an election night event). This is why they keep refering to Singer as President Elect and Neuman as VP elect.
They have been building up to inauguration in January, which is why it's Christmas time now.
I noticed other reactors missed that too. There have also been season change signs like the icicles of the house and the wardrobe changes with characters to reflect colder temps

It’s been around Christmas time. The season started in early November during the election of Singer, a couple episodes later, they went to a Voght on Ice Christian indoctrination Christmas practice, all leading to to Jan 6

Yeah I think a lot of people forgot that the season started on Election Day which is beginning of November so it makes sense that it's Christmas time now especially like you said a few episodes ago was the whole Vought on Ice thing which is normally something that happens late November early December

Fun fact: this episode is called the insider. That’s a reference to a comic episode, but it’s also a reference to A-Train in the seven and the shapeshifter in The Boys. However, perhaps unrelated but interesting is that the shapeshifter works an awful lot like the villain in a Stephen king book (and surprisingly good HBO series) called the Outsider.

Something I find truly fascinating about this show is seeing how similar a supe's powers can be. In this case shapeshifters. We've seen a Supe in season 1 help Stillwell blackmail someone, We saw one in Gen V pretend to be Rufus, and now we've seen one who actually needs to remove their skin to look like someone else.
I think this one is probably more powerful than the previous 2. We saw with doppelgänger that he couldn’t stay in shape very long, and the gen v kid seemed to change the same way, so probably the same limitations. This one seems to be hold the shape until they shed the skin into someone new, and that could be an indefinite amount of time

Ambrosia isn't dead IMO. No body, no death! Deep is stupid and she knows that. Octopi are very smart and known for being escape artists.
I don't know if you guys remember but the filming for this season got put on pause because of the writer's strike. So for all we know the initial release date could've been last winter but it got pushed back and that's why it's Christmas in July.
She did know. The show has shown us that fact multiple times since Episode 2, and has also repeatedly told us that Sage is playing her own game, not Homelander's.
Which is easier to believe - that the smartest person in the world couldn't figure this out, or that a brilliant woman with complex motivations would lie to a dangerous, easily-manipulated man-child?
When the finale airs next week, I think you'll see all of this in a different light.

I’m British so I may be completely wrong but isn’t your election day in November? Which is episode 1. So by episode 7, Xmas is pretty reasonable. Considering we got the build up with the Xmas ice skating thing too?
I think Ryan is going to die this season. Which is going to send Homelander and Butcher both over the edge.
Unfortunately, Ashley is in a shitty situation all around. She can't just run forever like Atrain, and she is too expendable to just quit. Homelander would have no trouble finding and killing her. So her best option was staying and playing the long game.
