      I wish someone would point out to kiwi breath Mike White that 4 of our 7 losses were at Loves Field. Home field advantage? I think not. If someone is better than you on any given day, they'll beat you anywhere. Just the way the world works.

      Just to reinforce ypur statement. Patti gasso has a large percentage winning record at Austin. I think this year is the first time they ever won a series against OU.

      @@johnleach4880 Some simple math can disprove the home field advantage argument too. Patty Gasso has coached at OU for 30 years. She has won 8 national championships. If the home field advantage was really THAT big of a deal then she’d have a lot more! Also, how come Okie State hasn’t had more success there? Haha! The people crying about the “home field advantage” are just mad that OU is so dang good. lol

    The Mia Scott blunder was probably the biggest play. Runners at 1st and 3rd with two outs and great momentum, and she does something stupid like that. Then Mike White goes to the postgame interview and whins about the venue. I don't think playing in OKC had anything to do with that momentum changing blunder. At 81 I'll probably be dead before the contract with OKC expires in 2035. Can't wait to see what the 2025 team looks like. My guess is they will be very good.

      @@tylermccomas3385 I think their recruiting class is ranked #1, and the #1 ranked pitcher (Audrey Lowry) is in that class. Then there's the freshmen phenoms Parker and Pickering returning. And finally there's the transfer portal, which should begin soon. I wouldn't bet against them.

      @@baysooner5745 Not sure I agree with the scorer on making the play an error. She has to charge and catch that on the short-hop and make a great throw to get the speedy Scott. I would have given her a hit on that one. Didn't matter cause Scott had a massive brainfart, and that's the game.

    • @dariussuite1605
      @dariussuite1605 Před 21 dnem +1

      The play by Mia Scott didn't cause Texas the game because Mia Scott was safe on first base by a error . And when the next big 3 batters from Texas came up to bat, Kelly Maxwell made them pop up, strike out and ground out for the last out, so they wouldn't of scored anyway let alone 4 or 5 more runs. So it didn't matter. Texas was the one that was beatable not Oklahoma. That's why Maxwell shut those last 3 batters out. It wouldn't of mattered.

      @@dariussuite1605 I agree. The error Hodge made shouldn't be glorified as one of the top 5 plays. And Hodge had no clue that Scott had overrun first... Kelly Maxwell yelled for her to turn around and throw the ball to first. I agree with the rest of the list but not giving Hodges error a spot on the list.

    I can't help but to have a little schadenfreude with regards to the Horns. There is an old saying that in this case curiously originated in Texas that is applicable. When it came to beating OU when it really mattered, the Horns were 'All hat and no cattle'. Boom! Winning, it's just plain fun.

  • @jdubhub68
    @jdubhub68 Před 22 dny +2

    The WCWS is in OKC because there is infrastructure there to support the popularity of the sport. Haters would rather see the game played in some city park baseball diamond in their podunk town in the middle of nowhere that can't handle a tenth of the crowd that OKC has for its lowest-attended home and road games. If it's not the venue, then haters blame the officials, then they blame the Sooners for "cheating". It's all a level of weaponized whining and there isn't enough cheese in Wisconsin to handle it.

    As long as I remember the
    WCWS has been played in OKC
    I worked it one year (It was hot)
    It was a small venue
    OKC made it what it is
    They put the money into it
    oh btw the WCWS was here before OU made it
    Arizona UCLA once dominated the WCWS
    In 24 years OU has made 10
    times winning 8
    And the only team complaining is Texas
    All teams are alloted tickets
    You are free to buy or not too buy
    Texas could have filled the stadium
