Drummer Jon Bevis is the real underrated force here, he is absolutely metronomic and holds all of this chaos together with taste and not a wasted hit anywhere

Yeah definitely holds down the not a rockstar looking dude but has a serious amount of work to do every night as this music would be very taxing across a 90min / 120 min set, lots of straight out power, having seen them live twice he absolutely delivers!
@@mustardking20he is fairly young compared to the rest of the guys, deadset beast player and hasn’t let his age dictate how to be a very important cog in the bands line up.

Having two insane guitarists is a big plus.
They are pretty simple guitar parts imo. They sound like Shellac and the Beatles together. The sound is abrasive but I don't think they are insane at all.
not only they sound amazing, but the band seems so confident. joe is absolutely crushing it. so proud to be a long time fan! they’re better than ever!

Not too random actually! Today was J Dilla’s birthday and Questlove (the drummer from The Roots - The Tonight Show’s house band) and J Dilla were very close. So nothing but respect there.

I discovered IDLES on the tiny desk. I wasnt even listening to thier music, i was just mistified and sucked into thier performance! I have forgotten alot of things in my lifetime, but i will never forget the first time i saw that tiny desk concert. The energy, the excitement, the fun! Been following these guys ever since! Cant wait to see them live one day

I first heard them on Siriusxm on Pearl Jam radio. Grounds was playing. My kids (3 and 9 at the time) and I were dumbfounded at the song - was heavy, dynamic, powerful. We found the tiny desk concert too and that was our hook. Never fight a man with a perm blew my mind.

Really glad to see IDLES having success! Saw them pre-pandemic in a tiny hole-in-the-wall club with Fontaines D.C. opening. One of the best small venue shows I've ever witnessed!

Had the chance to see them live last month, in Frankfurt on March 23rd and it was ABSOLUTELY AMAZING!
DITZ opened the show and also at the end both bands shared the scene for the last song. It was chef's kiss!
