- Hello and welcome to a new video, today I review the Fiskars Xa3 Brush Hook.
It's a great tool in my opinion! It cuts like a beast!
You can find the tool here www.fiskars.com/en-gb/gardeni...

I bought one of these a couple years ago and I will never go back to a Machete, this tool is perfect in the weight of the blade and the overall lightness of it too. Sharp as a razor from the factory and cuts through fairly large branches.
I came looking for a video on how to use a machete. So helpful! I hate using power tools outside all the time. ✌🏽
I have the smaller one, it's good. But, now I need the big brother. Thank you for a great demonstration.
A good demonstration. Last year I purchased the XA3 and its bigger brother the XA23. I've about 0.3 hectares of land infested with blackthorn (Slånbär) bushes and find the Fiskar tools very effective for clearance. They were sharp when they arrived and hold their edge well, though I do resharpen occasionally during the day. With the XA23 I can usually cut through a 3 cm diameter Blackthorn with a single blow.
The no1 tool for any adventure. Highly recommended!
Indeed! Thank you for watching :)
I too can highly recommend this tool for not only brush clearance, but even small to medium sized trees as well.
Good video, my friend!
It's a great tool and Thank you for showing me it in the first place friend!
You did n excellent video explaining why this was so useful for cutting brush. Thank you! Much appreciated…
I have several Fiskars products, I used the brush axe which looks similar to clear some bamboo. Worked much better than a machete. Fiskars handle fits your hand, doesn’t feel like it’s going to slip out or transmit vibration. Held a sharp edge for a long time too.
Great demonstration of both function and safety precautions!
Thank you!
Great video!
Know is a Good tool used it in Al Spain and EU and always worked well
at the end , while swinging hit a rock and a part of the tip broke but no problem
Brother Awesome Review!
Thank you!
Keep on doing practical reviews
Thank you. I am very busy with school at the moment so that's why I have not uploaded for a while. But there will be videos coming out this summer!
The symbol you weren’t sure about means not to pry with the tool I believe
I think the hole in the blade may be there because of the manufacturing process. To keep the blade straight during the heat treatment.
Really nice review, thanks for sharing.
Fiskars make good tools.
Very interesting!
I like the Fiskars brush hook, but mine was not sharp enough to chop through the tough multiflora rose that plagues us in Maryland, USA. The brush simply springs away. I'm still looking for a method to put a razor edge on it. Very well made though.
Interesting. Maybe the one you got wasn't as well sharpened from factory. Hope you will find a way to sharpen it enough. A good sharpening puck will probably do the trick!
Can we actually see area you clean up with this tool?
Great video.
Just ordered this tool.
Seems like a good asset to have the hook on the end. Protecting the edge when hitting near the ground and the pulling of branches.
Are you from Finland?
Fiskars is my favorite brand, along with Mora from sweden.
Excellent performance and ergonomics.
Yes it's a great tool! I'm from Sweden!

Great.
I live in The Netherlands.
Так что в итоге то , хороший секач ?
This is a modern version of "vesuri", which is an old traditional billhook cutting tool in Finland, and I'd imagine in Sweden also.
Very cool. I did not know this. Are you from Finland?
@@SwedishCountryLiving Yeah
Yeah
Terveisiä ruotsista kaveri!
Whats the song at the end of your video?
Here is the song czcams.com/video/jBejyEcM8Vs/video.html
Thank you for watching!
How does it work on bone?
I have no idea. It is really sturdy and holds its edge real good. But I have not tested it on bone.
😂
cut the direction the tree grows. thanks for the demo
Thanks for the tip and thank you for watching!
Just curious are you from Sweden? Your accent is badass man lol thanks for the info
Haha yes. I am from Sweden. Cheers!
Yeah it's like The Woodsman's Pal but the Pal is a lot better chopper.
Both are good for clearing a site, whippersnappers, de-limbing, brush...light chopping with the Fiskars, but it's not an axe, the Pal is closer to a hatchet or axe...but it's got that great hook, like this Fiskars.
For better chopping get The Woodsman's Pal.
Don't need that?
Get this Fiskars.
So that's my opinion...
Maybe one day I will do a review of the Woodsman's Pal. Thank you for watching!
Try the Brush Axe
Good idea. It would be interesting to compare it to the Brush Hook.
Make sure to check out my review of the Fiskars Xsharp! czcams.com/video/p-9qLtp-Qxk/video.html
No, this would be useless against the tough slippery vines where I live in Alabama, only pruning shears have worked. For cutting down small trees, a pruning saw is more efficient.
What tool would you recommend for slippery vines?
@@Joellyboy283 pruning shears with serrated blades have worked best in my experience.
You might try a woodmans pal. It’s heavier, a bit pricey, but works wonders on kudzu, honeysuckle, poison ivy, and other Southern vines. Has an interesting history too. I was bequeathed one by a Vietnam Veteran on his passing. Was so impressed with it’s usefulness I bought a new one and gave his pride of place on my mantle in his memory.
@@Joellyboy283the Slippery Vine Cutter 2000 of course
Looks like a good tool for chopping, but probably not ideal for clearing thick brush.
I have actually cut down a bunch of small - mid sized trees with this tool. It is a really good chopper!
While Fiskars is a Finnish company, many of their products are made in China.
Since then, their quality has gone downhill.
Many such cases. Sad.
Speak up lad.
