I am speechless. I can't comprehend it.Why why Nigeria why? I want to contribute to the family of James Iroha and all other members of the famous Masquerade cast.
It's a shame that a man who created one of the funniest comedies in Nigeria, ended up this way, with no one to help him. Giringory, as you are known by everybody. You are missed, and forever will be💐😭
Thanks a million for whoever made this precious video. We are great fans of James Iroha and his amazing invention "The New Masquerade" . We all love you and miss you James Iroha . You are to us like Clint Eastwood is to eye of the white man. It's so sad to see how our artistes leave the world in perpetual hardship or even grinding poverty in contrast to the western world where they are venerated as great heros with enormous wealth.
Tony Okoroji, thank goodness you are not letting go. Remain encouraged for posterity never lets the like of you down. Keep telling us the way we are...
We love you, James Iroha OON. For those other good nigerians who working with the idea that "Nigeria" will take care of you at your old age, you better think again.
Sad indeed! Painful beyond imagination but true how our legends are treated.... They gave so much laughter and joy and yet ,they are so poor. We can do better
Just listen to his creative speech at the last part of this interview....pure genius! since the government of Nigeria is always useless, Why couldn't individuals who appreciated him be allowed/encouraged to raise funds for him in the twilight of his life when he was so impoverished? I know I would have loved to, if it was now...
I really enjoyed that brief insight into Giringory’s life. What a shame we lost him so soon. I remembered Masquerade and it was so good to hear that signatory tune of the show. Lots of nostalgia about my youth days in Nigeria and me praying for NEPA to bring light so that we get to watch the program or pray that the light didn’t go in the middle of the program.
What a shame that an Icon like James Iroha (a.k.a Giringory) was neglected by a country that he created smiles and laughter to all died poor. Oh what a country called Nigeria. The most painful was almost going blind. Oh NIGERIA where are the good leaders. May his Soul Rest in Peace. Amen. Thank you Chief Tony Okoroji for this wonderful interview with this Great Icon James Iroha.
We obviously have no official social system and the entertainment industry need to help one another make a plan for their future so that this does not keep happening. This is a message to the younger ones to invest in something that can take care of their needs in old age. So many people spend their life's energy doing what they love; to inspire, entertain or help others but at their most needy time, they have no help. May we arise in Nigeria to what we should be.
The only way we can honour James Iroha, and all the cast of Masquerade is to find all the videos of Masquerade and ask NTA to upload them on CZcams or if there are any Nigerians who recorded the programmes and have the video cassettes, should please be persuaded to upload it,CZcams would pay for this uploaded.
When you find all the videos, you will see me in a few of them. I am still alive, Nobody knows me because I occasionally played minor roles. When I die some people will begin to speak so well of me. I weep whenever I remember how my boss James Iroha and I frequently went to his house, ate, drove around Aba to do a few errands, and even sent me with his 504 to go do some errands for me. We flew from old PH airport to Lagos to do some music recordings and lodged at Airport Hotel. What a wonderful and creative brain! One day, I will get old and die. If my boss was not given due medical attention, even after he was given OON, I wonder what will happen to someone like me. I live in fear.
@@bossrabor I didn't play a popular role. I was normally invited from the office to the studio whenever a small part came open. Those parts usually didn't have cast name. Call me the unknown artist. I was only known as a musician there in Aba. At my NTA job, I was always in the office every day, and even typing the drama scripts. All my boss would do was to send for Frederick Nwosu, and I would come into the studio and act the small part and go back to my desk.
There are legal ramifications behind that. That footage is most likely licensed and CZcams will take it down because of the owner. The proper way to do it is the production company that owns Masquerade footage needs to collaborate with a network like Showmax and negotiate making it available on a streaming service.
Tony Okoroji, your leadership quality in the entertainment industry is in excellence. Gringory, your excellence in the TV Industry is unequalled. Warmest regards to you all.
PMAAN and present day entertainers can push for honour and upliftment of Gringory Akabogu, if he's still alive. If not, there is still posthumous honour. What a talent. Look at the wisdom and art in those his last rendition.
Nostalgic memories from a legendary character who helped mold the strong foundation that Nollywood enjoys today. Of course Nigeria/Nollywood is a failed country/Industry, if not such creative minds that served as the foil on which its success were lit surely wouldn't have been abandoned.
Oh, this is the man I loved to listen to when i was young even up till tomorrow "Giringori Akabogu" Nigeria itself is not a place to put hope on, so please don't count on them,Biafra is underway. The God's own nation and her people with their sense of humor is going to renew your life again, you are man of great value may the God of Biafra visit you soon.
Rest in Peace 'Great one'...You're a rare legend...You're dead but your legacy lives on...The New Masquerade was my favourite tv programme in those days...Respect!!!
I am one of those kids who were fortunate to watch you guys shoot life in my street 2nd avenue Trans Ekulu all the episode to place in my street. its quite unfortunate that Nigerian government has no plans for their citizens. you will always be remember RIP Hero
So sad..so sad...so sad. This man suffered and died without honour from the nation...in all his role in the movie industry.. If only the family and the TV station he walked with can come up with something or keep showing d programme to immortalise him.it is well with his family.
