I’m going to this place in 12 days on Wednesday November 1 2023 and I am so looking forward to the food, especially the bacon, French toast, hash browns, jackfruit, & hot dogs.
went last week of march, Food - poor Everything is bland, way overcooked, and anything cold is not chilled properly and anything hot is not heated properly. The buffets look like there's a large selection but often they double up and the selection actually sucks. Al a carte dinners, you need to get them booked, they fill up fast. These will be the only meals you enjoy. Dessert comes right off the lunch buffet though.... Service - mostly nonexistent, you have to go out of your way to be proactive at the bars. Don't expect to see wait staff at the pools, they have some, but IDK what they really do. Anything beyond rail drinks are an upcharge. I doubt any of the bartenders are trained at bartending, no two drinks taste the same. Beaches suck. On the Luxury side there is no beaches. there's some sand but the water is 100 degrees plus and the bottom is a suction hole of small rocks. The grand side has a much nicer beach but it will be overcrowded with people looking for a beach to be at. There's no swimmable water deeper than 4 feet. The pools are in disrepair, wires hanging out of light boxes that are hanging half way out in the water. missing tiles, overall a lot of debris and grime builds up. They really need to triple their pool cleaning crew and equipment to be effective in this massive pool system. Excursions you will be going all the way to ocho rios or montego bay to get anything good going on. The hotel is generally dirty with trash on every stair well and elevator. It isn't staffs fault, the cleaning staff does try. but the clientele there seems to think leaving their trash wherever is cool. Rooms were cleaned and restocked daily, they were clean and in good condition. The grounds are well kept. If you're a tipper and expect reciprocated service based on your generosity, forget it. Keep your money in your pocket. The tips are greatly appreciated but the service doesn't really change much. It does with some of the staff, but not really a lot. Scuba diving and Snorkeling - this is a top 2 spot on the island for this activity. The reef structure is healthy and vibrant with an incredible amount of visible fauna. In 4 dives I saw everything from eagle rays to octopus and all the fish in between. Our dive had success dispatching some lion fish as well. Dive instructor "gandhi" was outstanding. had all the expertise you would hope for. Great to dive with, great location to dive. Overall, this is the cheapest all inclusive and you get what you pay for. For what it is, it was good. For what you want, its bad. FYI, if you need weed, talk to the guy on the beach over by the nude beach or hit up a groundskeeper.
