      bobby needs to realize he cant really help carlos anymore, he wont change. Crazy thing is I feel if carlos admitted to stealing (like a robin williams and dane cook did) and was truly repentant, he would be more popular than he is now and he wouldnt be losing out on the millions like he said he did on bobby lees podcast cause of rogan

    The fact that Robin Williams had a hotline and would pay people if he stole their joke, means he actually took that shit seriously and from what I understand he was just freewheeling on stage all the time and didn't do it on purpose. Mencia never admitted it, paid one, or apologized.

    • @TheMikeMase
      @TheMikeMase Před 2 lety

      also its not like even if robin williams stole something from you he would do it in a way that wasn't entirely his own voice/essence. even if the material wasn't original the performance and delivery was, where as basically everything mencia ever did was invented and inauthentic

    • @orcanimal
      @orcanimal Před 2 lety +1

      The difference between Carlos and Robin is Robin was never called out for it on a public stage for all the fans to see and learn he was stealing. I guarantee most people don't know about this, only comedians. Same as it was with Carlos. Comedians knew he was stealing, but he was still getting booked everywhere 'cause he was popular and had power.
      It took Joe Rogan calling him out on it on stage, and Redban filming it and uploading it to YT to share with the masses, that brought Carlos down. There's no racism involved here.
      The same goes for Dennis Leary. There was no public confrontation with proof.
      So Bobby saying 'everybody knew they were stealing' is a myopic viewpoint limited only to the world of standup comedy.

      Dennis leary was called out by Bill hicks, he would go on talk shows and say how leary would steal from him but he didn't blow up like Joe. I wanna say it's because he was so hurt at his friend but it might also have to do with the fact he had cancer so it didn't matter if he called him out or not.

    I have thought about that before, so many comedians out there cheating copy material but no one has ever been attack like Carlos. Joe Rogan doesn't attack these other comedians like he did Carlos it's pretty obvious that deep down there's some jealousy and resentment involve just like Bobby said

      It’s wild to think back and how really Ari was the first domino that evolved and snowballed to rogain confronting Ned.
      Ari believed Natasha was cheating, and blamed Bobby for whatever his belief at the time was. Bobby didn’t want to be involved so the maniac Ari is, assaulted him repeatedly. Also at the time Ari auditioned for Mind of Mencia which obviously Ned didn’t want someone on his show that was harming his friend/employee. This only made Ari even more resentful and went to Rogain about his wall bit which resulted In what we saw with the Redban film.

    It has nothing to do with the industry being racist. He's been blackballed for being an asshole about the whole joke thievery and being an untalented hack without the stolen material. Robin Williams was a brilliant comedic and dramatic actor and that's what kept him relevant and become more than just a comedian. That Tigerbelly episode with Mencia was an absolute clusterf*ck! He did the exact same thing when Joey Diaz had him on. He looked to blame other people for his individual actions.

    It's not a racial thing, because dane cooke was accused of stealing and look where he's at. Robin Williams acknowledged that he riffs so much that he could've stolen jokes which is why he had the hotline. At the end of the day, Robin Williams paid the other comedians for their jokes. Carlos stole and refused to admit fault. Not only that but he pretended to be Mexican and treated his fellow comedians like shit. Bobby knows all this but wants to play the race card only because he's trying to still save his "friend". Bobby lee is one of the greats and I hope he gets bigger and more recognition than he has.
